  • Barcelona Eliminates Arsenal!

That was one hell of an amazing match, that messi first goal , was stunning , Arsenal did play some good football. Also Almunia was great , but they collapsed because of Van persie and his Stupidty , i really blame the loss of his team on him. Also Lots here are Arsenal fans( Yeah i mean you Gomez:P) so hard luck , hope you win the premier league.

Also Good luck to Milan tommorow !

The first leg on Arsenal's home ended 2-1 For arsenal , The second leg on Barcelona's Home stadium ended 3-1

AGG: BAR 4-3ARS
tojleet at its finest! Barcelona are really good, but they're also the luckiest team I've ever seen! If that referee wasn't such an asshole, he wouldn't have given Van Persie a red card because it wasn't really worth it. So yeah, it's the referee who defeated Arsenal and not Barcelona who were playing miserably prior to the red card.
@ Kassem

That same ref did not whistle the penalty for Messi in the first half so rest assured it was all fair at the end. The microphones on the side of the pitch picked up the whistle. I think he could have heard it.

Anyway, it is Barça who defeated Arsenal and not the ref. Heck DID THEY NOT HAVE 1 (ONE) SHOT ON GOAL!

Visca El Barça!
My only hope is that Chelsea will win the Champions league
Attempts on target:
Barcelona 10 - 0 Arsenal

Attempts off target:
Barcelona 7 - 0 Arsenal

so yeah, i think the ref defeated Arsenal.
Van Persie should not have taken the red Card and he should have made that foul to take the first yellow one.

Arsenal played pure defense and good defense, but what was wrong in that is that they have entered the game with the mentality : " we don't want to win just we want a tie" , this what made them loose the game (no one can resist 90 min of Barcelona's attack without taking a goal especially if they have like 75% of the ball possession)

I wanted Arsenal to win , but hard luck and congrats for Barça.

Arsenal played a 10-man defense tactic so you can't really call it "good". It's like throwing shit at the wall. Of course it is going to stick.

For those talking about the ref, again he did not whistle a penalty for us on Messi in the first half. That's just how football goes.

Anyone who denies Barça superiority in the game, clearly knows nothing about football. Just check the stats for the game.

Van Persie is a main element in the team, so missing him is a problem + they were playing with 10(duhh)
GG ....
Dani Alves should've got a red card for his tackle on Nasri!
Guys, I just logged in to comment on this thread.
Here's how everything worked in the game. At first, Arsenal were playing a defensive game, because they are winning on aggregate 2 to 1. Barcelona were playing an attacking game throughout the whole match.

When Messi scored, everything changed for Arsenal, they had to play an attacking game.
When Sergio Busquets scored an own goal helping Arsenal, they were going back to defense, Van Persie wouldn't have made any difference.

Van Persie deserved the yellow card, and deserved the red card. He deserved the yellow card for hitting Alves on his mouth, and after winning a goal thanks to Busquets, which made them win on aggregate, he wanted to waste time, and that's why he shot it even after the whistle which is clearly heard. Don't talk about unfairness in the game, because the referee didn't award Messi a penalty earlier in the game, and he ruled offside against him when he clearly wasn't.

Van Persie is a main element of the team, but in this game he couldn't do anything, since they were going to play a defensive tactic. Sure Arsenal could have won, but a "win is a win".

Plus why should Dani Alves be awarded a yellow card? He hit THE BALL, and Nasri tripped. It isn't his fault.

Arsenal had a chance to qualify for the quarter finals at ~70-80 when I don't know who was alone and then Mascherano saved the day, provoking his own injury, but he didn't care.

Also, shots on goal prove the superiority of Barcelona throughout the game, 10 in the first half and 7 in the second, I think. And even when Barcelona were winning 3-1, Guardiola urged them to keep attacking, and not defend.

They deserve the win. And mind I remind you that Arsenal's only goal was thanks to Sergio Busquets, and that's the second goal in Barcelona's net in Camp Nou throughout the season, and who scored it? Not Arsenal, but one of Barcelona.

It was a good game, and Barcelona proved their superiority.
Arsenal Really needs to start Buying some players . because i can't see Nasri and Fabregas Staying there for a long time .
Blaming Van Persie's red card for the loss is useless. RVP was sent off in the 60th minute, why didn't Arsenal have any attempts on( or even off) target before he was sent off? We kept hearing Arsenal are going to the Camp Nou to attack, but they played with 10 defenders
Arsenal simply parked the bus with their defense and they payed for it!
Yes, playing with 10 defending players and a goal keeper isn't going to do much.
