It seems gmail ate my email...

This is weird. I am pretty sure I had received an email with a jpg attachment about last week.
I spent 1/2 hour looking for it today, it just to seems to have vanished from existence. I tried many search combination I could think about, and also clicking through the threads one by one... no luck.
The threaded inbox doesn't make things easier... this is one of the times where I wish to have a normal, non-threaded mail display.
Anyway I seem to have come to the conclusion, pending further development, that google merrily swallowed my email. Bon appetit. Luckily, I found a copy of that file buried in my downloads folder.

Google were and are still experiencing some problems after an update that they installed on their servers caused the vanishing of huge amounts of files. They say that they are recovering them. we need to wait and see.

if it were an update, shouldn't they test it in a virtual environment before applying the update? a server crash isn't logical either; i am sure they have redundancy. weird from google.
