Has anybody downloaded the Crysis 2 Multi-player demo yet? I've downloaded it and played online. The game is AMAZING! Although I'm subscribed to 512K ADSL plan with IDM, and latency is around 400ms, the game handles exceptionally well (and I'm really sensitive to lag). The thing is that the lag does not delay your player's movement like it does with CrossFire online or CoD over LAN.

Here is the link for the download:

It's 1.5GB though. For those who can't download it, you're free to pass by my house and I'll copy it over to your flash drive. I live in Clemenceau (close to CMC / Hamra).

Google for another link if you find the server in my link is slow or overloaded.

Let's form our own Lebanese clan in-game. We can really enjoy this game.
awesome!!!! :D
but I'm from Saida :(

I'll try to see if one of my friends who downloads a lot here can help me

either ways... Demo looks promising :)

17 days before release .. can't wait! :)
some bugs in the demo, but it's still awesome!

you can add me in the game if you want: Radioactivemah
you can add me as well: Shatilov

I found it to be fun. it has alot of eye candy :), my GTX 275 handles it very well on Hardcore Settings @ 1920x1080
I dont see any lag issues, as most servers are ~ 200.
Some1 told me its still very playable with a 400 ping...
If you like FPS games and you have an OK computer...Give it a go
That is what I just said. I have a GTX 260 overclocked to 729/1458 OCCT Stable and handles Crysis 2 Demo nicely at 1920 x 1080 Hardcore.

Piece of advice, guys, create a shortcut for Crysis2Demo.exe in install path and add the following to target: +cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1 +i_mouse_smooth=0

Another thing: Shatilov, the difference between Gamer quality and Hardcore quality is not much. The main difference is lighting. I played much better with Gamer quality since framerate was almost always a constant 60 and rarely dipping slightly below. I have an overclocked GTX 260 by the way, close to your GTX 275.

What server are you using? A latency of 200 is pretty good.
what is your name, so I can add u as a friend & you can join me.
I am using Sodetel 1M DSL, so most servers I get are between 200 ~ 450, But I'm only joining the ~200 ones, so my friends can join me.

What does this do
This increases the field of vision to 90 degrees (probably up from 75), removes motion blur, skips the intro, and disables mouse smoothing (better accuracy and MUCH less lag). I honestly could not bear the game dipping into the high 20s - 30s with mouse smoothing on. However, with it turned off, moving the mouse when the game goes down to 27-30 FPS (on Hardcore - I think it's a bug, my GFX is not heating up much as Crysis and this is Crysis 2 we're talking about) is as smooth as silk.

How is that? I thought 200 is too high for the game to be playable?

Is 200 a good ping for another games too, like MW2?
MW2 depends on P2P connection, you have to be connected to all the players. Servers is that you have to connect to the server, that is the other players also connected to.

but yeah I think 200 is still good for p2p games.
Oh! And why Lebanese gamers always complain about unplayable games with our connections?
And is there any Lebanese servers for famous games? because for sure the ping will decrease because of the distance.

Because latencies are mostly unstable, so you'll be lucky sometimes to spend a week or two with little to no lag during some online sessions, and well, other days you'll be cursing your ISP like no tomorrow.

On topic.

The PC beta was ok, it just feels way too console-ized in my opinion.

I thought Crysis 2 will bring the latest tech down to its knees, well apparently I was way off!

Seriously, whats with the Press Start at the main menu?
Graphics are dumped down, Crysis 1 from 2007 looks better.
Controls doesn't feel like the original one, its abit casual - Crytek, no need to copy CoD, no one wants that in Crysis.
Apparently Crysis 2 is nothing but a lame console port, it doesnt even support DX11.
Why too much gloom and motion blur? Yes that should cover up the jaggies on consoles, but what about PCs? why no AA option? probably will be available in the final product, though.

Good thing I was able to quickly connect to 160ms servers without experiencing any lag issues and game ran @30+fps on Hardcore settings @720p - overall the game is fun, but requires lots of tweaks, and DX11 is a must for a game like Crysis.

Its not a bug..New enhanced engine
And they said that the game would need less pc requi than crysis 1 and that it would run much smoother.

No DX11? It supports it, but I guess in this Demo it's not included.

And about the unstable pings, what is the best ISP to provide best connection for online gaming in Lebanon? Or there's no hope to find one?

DX11 will be added on later to the game, as a patch, after the retail release of Crysis 2.

As to the best ISP, check old threads in the forum , you have Ogero, & Sodetel & IDM i think. Check older threads about ISP & online gaming.

is anyone gonna get this game on Steam? or on ps3? i wanna know what's your opinion on where to buy it, since it's been "consolisized". I liked the first one one story, graphics, etc... so i definitely wanna get this game eventually cause i liked it's multiplayer much better than the first one though iam worried cause i find "friends" on ps3 seem to be more active gamingly than "friends" on steam.
Hamboza, the PS3 version might turn out buggy and it probably runs in sub-HD, that's what reports suggest.

Although the PC version is dumped down, it clearly is the right choice, the game will have superior graphics obviously, and you seem to own the right hardware for that. The PC game will benefit from the mod community who will mess around with the sandbox provided with Crysis 2, and thus will allow for extreme Cry Engine 3 modifications.

Unless you want to play with friends who are active the most on a specific platform. I suggest you wait and see what's the community feedback for both the PC and PS3 version - you don't want to end up with another Black Ops PS3 disaster after all :p.
oh i definitely don't want another "Black Ops PS3 disaster", anyways I've already made up my mind about this one, and I am gonna pre-order it on Steam. Plus as much as it's graphics would be dumped down I think they'll still be good, especially if it's true that it's gonna be running on dx11.
Anyone having trouble finding servers in the PC demo for Crysis 2? It seems as if Crytek has pulled the servers down, the PC, 360 demo is over perhaps. Oh and the PS3 demo is out now on the PlayStation store.

Yes
The PC Demo is over I think.
