jsaade I have 2.3.3 rooted. I saw on xda an update for the 2.3.3 radio (should enhance network reception) and it worked with everyone except for me! I got "no service". Tried flashing to the nandroid backup I had and it did not work. I reflashed to 2.3.3 and rooted. now I cannot get clockworkmod to work! I do not have a service, the wifi has problems as it does not connect to google servers anymore so no market => no ROM Manager. Tried everything, I have superuser, when I go to "adb shell" and try "su" I get permissions denied! When I try to force a recovery image boot via "fastboot boot recovery.img" I get stuck on google logo! (I waited ten minutes and nothing happened). what can i do (I tried xda forums but it was not that helpful) the response I got was to rename recovery-install.sh in etc folder but I cannot as it always says permission denied! very frustrating!
ZuZ try downloading this http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/passion/656099b119f8.signed-passion-ota-102588.656099b1.zip and rename it to PASSIMG.zip and place it in the root of your sdcard... then turn on your phone and keep pressing volume down and power button. <admin edit> 2. jsaade managed to get the phone back to my backup but that's it! nothing works, if i flash a stock rom or not I do not have service!
jsaade Managed to fix it :) I was on rooted 2.3.3 without the radio img. and it was working fine. I updated the radio to 2.3.3 from a source (with correct md5) from xda-developers forum and it corrupted my network. Although everyone who used it said it had made the network reception better but I guess in Lebanon we are GSM and we suck :) Anyways I managed to boot into recovery (clockworkmod), flashed the 2.3.2 radio.img from 2.3.2 stock and it worked! I just restored my previous back and had everything working. Now I am not sure if 2.3.3 stock will also mess up the network (as it contains the new radio) but I wont touch it. When I am not tired I will be flashing to a better ROM (other than stock). Oh the things you can do with your android and not with your iphone :).
ZuZ I flashed the 2.3.3 on my N1.. worked perfectly, but then had to revert back to 2.1 using the PASSIMG.zip solution in order to get root and then upgraded back to my old CM7 rc1 nand backup! so the stock 2.3.3 definitely works, so does the custom.. But trust me, stock is just a POS in compared to CM7..
vegetaleb @ ZeRaw what's your device?? I tried 2.3.3 on N1 but it lacks trackball wake which is damn important for me, so I am now using the turbo charged MIUI by Rod
