I have a
Asus GTX 275
Q6600 @ 3.0
4GB DDR2
Is it worth it to pay 300$ & get a GTX 480 instead of the GTX 275, considering my system specifications ?
Thanks for your replies.

nah, thats a good vga it can still run any game with max settings...

I wouldn't do it if the current hardware is meeting your needs. Wait for better performance/$ cards.

Geforce 5xx series are here, just wait for the promising gtx560, it will give you 480 performances for 1/3 the price

It all depends on how many inches your screen is and on what resolution are you willing to play. I have the GTX280, which is a bit better than the GTX275 (tiny tiny performance difference), and I am still playing new games in full HD resolution with decent FPS. Don't waste your money on graphics cause you won't notice major performance difference. I recommend you spend money on disk performance. I recommend you get 2x Western Digital 1TB Black Caviar HDDs and put them in RAID 0. You won't believe how fast the games will load. I have 4 of these hdds in RAID 0 and it makes my system snappy. If you are willing to spend 300$, get 3 HDDs and RAID them in 0+1

I recommend waiting for the 5xx series cards.

@MrClass: Raid 0+1 requires 4 disks.
MrClass
