  • make phone call from a different number?

hello guys, i have a friend who called me today, and when he called it showed me my number, to do that he dialed a number from my phone and did like a missed call(sort of international number) then he used his phone to call me and it showed me my number
does anyone know how to do that? i think its from a callback service?
sounds like an operator misconfiguration. should it be the same or similar to what i think, you can make free calls that way :)

btw the numbers that are used in day to day use such as 03-123123 are not the actual real numbers, they are "aliases" to the actual number, hence aliases can be faked!
no it's not operator misconfiguration he took my phone he dialed the international number, then he gave me back the phone and he called me from his own mobile and it showed me my number :D
It's a Call dialer spoof, it spoofs the number.
I have it on my iPhone, it's free but they take like 50 cents for a minute(not sure exactly).
I don't know if it's available on Android OS phones or Symbian OS or RIM OS, but it's available on Cydia for only Jailbreaked iPhone. The whole process is like "jadz" said it dials an international number with the spoofed number and your number.
So you'll see any number the Dialer chose. He can choose any number he wants.


Edit: There's more than one application on Cydia to spoof the number, like: CallerID Faker and SPOOF.
And it's not necessary to dial a number from your phone, you just need a phone with a spoof application and some $ to change the number showed on the receiver phone.

no problem mate, but beware you loose $ when you MC someone becuase of the international rate.
Yes its totally costy for the prepaid lines in Lebanon.
The last time someone did that to me, it was just a simple trick. He took my phone, added himself as a contact, but instead of the name he entered my number. I didn't see him doing that of course. So when his phone calls mine, my number will appear because that's the name of the contact.

I know, it's a stupid trick but I fell for it at first :D

Mr Jad , i know what your talking about , dial this number : 0033172293621 make a mc than you'll get three phone calls , 1 : your number , 2nd : unknown , 3rd : 00000000 – tell me about it later
