Hey, i decided to get the motorola atrix 4g because of its awesomeness. Currently it's only available for preorder with ATT in america. When it is available, how may i get it unlocked and not paying a huge amount of money(>600$) because with ATT its no commitment price is 499.99$. Thanks

but why is it releasing Android 2.2 and not 2.3?
not to discourage but you should wait before ordering. Wait till reviews come in, wait till people actually use the phone and report if it is in fact locked to a carrier or not.
If it is locked then you would need to look for tutorials but seeing the phone is not released yet it is very early to start digging around for answers.

Motorola is evil, they are making state of art systems just to screw customers. To be exact - E-Fuse system, to not allow custom firmware.
And you know main reason behind that? If you will load custom firmware with latest Android on ur old motorola phone, you will not buy after 6 month another their crap, where change is only in software, newer Android.

Atrix 4G can be unlocked and rooted now!
I wonder if there is any ''wakil'' in Lebanon in case it has hardware problems?
Perhaps our friend Amhaz can sell it but not repair it ;)
The only thing it has better than other Android devices is the higher resolution,but once LG Optimus 2X,3D and SGS II are out the Atrix CPU will not be the best no more

I called Amhaz...they don't bring Motorola devices at all.
And with the absence of official dealer in Lebanon it's way too risky to bring one.
Let's stick to Samsung,HTC and LG Android phones

the atrix is really good phone the tegra 2 soc is a bit more powerful then samsung's soc exynos 4210, the atrix is also more powerful then the lg x2 (more ram 512 extra then X2 and higher res screen) the atrix really has the edge over other phones, the lack of NFC and signed boot loader is upsetting but its got webtop application.

I got an ATRIX 4G 3 months ago and am LOVING it! I even received an update notification and now it's running on 2.3.4! The WHOLE UI changed..
I just never get tired of using this phone!
I got it unlocked from China for $499 without any trace of AT&T on it
