  • Online payment in Lebanon (without credit card)

Hey guys,

I am currently living outside Lebanon, but thinkin' of coming back and starting my own business there. So I have a couple of questions - hope you can help me

1. Do Lebanese use their credit cards for paying online? (for example in e-stores)
2. Is there any way to pay online, if you don't want to use your card? E-money or smth like that. How easy is making deposits to these systems?

Thankx, Samer Fatayri.
check netcommerce website and Audi bank, they have such services

Francois
the only way that I have paid for something online is via cellphone...
Seems like you wanna make an estore ? how about beeing payed by bank transfer or payment on delivery .But if you do that you need to find a way to assure your customers that they will get their ware . On the other side is it a problem with payment by delivery because you could get betrayed by the drivers or by the customers who kill your driver and take the ware (I^m joking) No but paying on Delivery means you need a certain arrangement with local transportation services in every region .You could also make contracts with other shop to do the distribution of your ware(works pretty good in Germany at least kinda new but seems ok) You could also talk to Bank to make you a special service tailored for your business but I have no idea what this could cost here in Lebanon.
@Nemesis-301, tell me more about that please. Do you have to pay any comission? Can you show me working examples of somthing like that?

@forgotten, no, it won't be an estore. Bank transfer? will that be comfortable for Lebanese?

The point of the question is - here, in Russia we have lots of services of internet-banking. That means that you an account on the Internet, and you can make deposits by buying cards of the system. So for paying for things in the Internet you don't have (or use) a credit card.

information from mobilefirst:
Thanks for your reply

Problem in Lebanon is we only work with one price point, 2.8USD and it
doesn´t match with the value of your service.

Second, payout we could offer you is not really high. Carriers get a high
commission for each single transaction. So at then end you will not get high
incomes from our solution.

If a user pays 2.8USD, you only will get 0.5USD, around 20%. We takes 10%
commission and local carriers around 70%

For that reason I guess our platform could not be suitable for your
solution, and we need to reject your application.

Paypal or credit card solutions will be better choice for your business

thanks

I use a debit card called websurfer to buy anything online. But once the money is deposited in the card account, you can no longer acquire it back as actual physical money, and must be used online. This is why you only deposit the amount you will be using, therefore, if by any chance it was stolen, they can't get a lot out of it.

Different banks may hold different card names, but same concept.
