Forum section suggestion

Many times some useless threads are closed because of silly rants, etc.. This is perfectly fine as it cleans up the forums. In addition, how about adding a "Locked Posts" forum section that is only viewable by logged in people (google can't index them) and moving those locked threads there without a redirect from original location?
mozillazine forums does that.

We don't. Currently they are simply locked and not always deleted so still visible to guests. My suggestion was to move them to a location that is only visible to registered users. It's just a suggestion so not a big deal.

If you read my first post, you'll notice I didn't say anything about secretive content. I mentioned threads that contain silly rants. It's less likely that a guest will visit a forum again if he/she sees a lot of locked threads full of rants. In fact, if Samer implements this, I'd rather *this* thread would be deleted also just to keep things clean.

Unfortunately, we usually refrain from adding new categories unless they are absolutely necessary. The only benefit I can see from moving locked topics to a dedicated category would be to keep the "forum digest" on the homepage clean. I went and checked some stats and it seems the digest is barely used (http://cl.ly/4SeG) – it is therefore not worth the extra moderation work.
