I've been seeing this happening every now and then at work, and I'd like to see if anyone has a more clear idea about what needs to be done.
I have an Oracle database from which I need to select data and have an XML file as output through a C# application.
Unfortunately, it's a complex type XSD schema that I'm dealing with. This means there's a lot of nested nodes and elements that are either optional, conditional or mandatory for the XML file.
I've been playing with the idea of using a DataSet to ReadXmlSchema() and then WriteXmlFile() but unfortunately it is not working as I'd like because the original XSD 'includes' other XSD's in it and has restrictions on some tags. The .NET framework DataSet is unable to cope with such complexity as far as I've been seeing. I've been searching on Google and it seems the public forums are only offering easy solutions or hints for the people who just need a simple XML file.
Another option would be to use the Oracle XDB packages but again, I'm stuck there without anything relevant and concrete to use.
TLDR? I have data in database, i need to generate an XML file based on a complex XSD schema.
