i've users in my network always try to bypass the surfcontrol and isa server to chat ,i block them all the time but now they're using reverse.lstn.net tunnel wich is not blocked by any server, although i added it to the block list, any ideas?

hi, did you try to invest in a firewall box, or a Linux Firewall?
This kind of users are any IT nightmare, and believe me i have met hundreds of them, my first approach is make them my best friends in the company so i can communicate to them the consequences of their behavior and how it can affect my work and therefor my life, if not then firewall or Linux box is the only solution.

If this is in a company, I'd tell them something like "it's against company policy to try and bypass the isa server".
can't ISA server block *.reverse.lstn.net?
francois-chaer
well, since i am not an ISA expert i will try to google it more, in the mean time, do you enforce proxy on the client computers ?
i know that you can restrict users to use proxy to be able to connect to the internet, i don't know if this would help stopping them.
i will get back to you whenever i could find something

after doing some investigation in the network i realised that users go into an ip 69.162.106.91 which opens the denied pages, but what i see in surf control was "reverse.lstn.net", so now i block the ip in isa, and monitoring what they intend to do next :)

cool, and thanks for sharing, i hope you won't have any headaches with them anymore :)
