  • Sony PSP2 officially announced

Good Morning everyone.

Sony finally unveiled the long-awaited PSP2 straight from their Tokyo meeting.

Codenamed "NGP" which stands for Next-Generation Portable. The handheld is a beast from what I've read about the specs.

It will have everything was rumored before, the 5-inch OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, touch panel,
dual analog sticks, 3G, WiFi, GPS, runs android, front and rear touchpads, an electronic compass,
and cameras on both the front and the rear. The CPU is described to be extremely unique and "advanced".

Some PlayStation 3 games were demonstrated on the device,
such as MGS4, Killzone, LBP, Uncharted and Unreal Engine demonstration as well.

Just Amazing, i am gonna be getting one at day 1, or at least as soon as i can. But those specs are a lot. they even demoed MGS straight from the ps3 to the psp2 and it rendered at 20fps which is amazing, so it would seem with a few graphical tweeks and we'll play almost ps3-like quality games.
This looks interesting but i am afraid that the price might be very high especially in Lebanon , hope it lives up to the hype.

As for the NGP well guys-especially Hamboza- dont rush it because the first generation of consumer electronics usually will reveal some problems along any new firmware update. Like the first generation of PS3s had the YLoD problem. So in other words the first generation is like a way for testing.
the GPU is a quad core as well really powerful it will render PS3 games up to almost the same frame rate. so that leaves some tweaks to the games to be made then we will have a cross platform support between ps3 and the next gen ps3. Amazing!!
Any one knows of Backward Compatibility?

I will get this portable device as i missed the last one.
wow it plays uncharted it want this ! only if ms doesn't release xbox portable:p also i read this somewhere , NGP=Nintendo got pwned .

Practically your right man, other than the few firmware or first hardware kick off issues, and although the NGP looks like a day one must have, the handheld wont probably have satisfying set of launch titles. Remember that most big name companies start with a weak lineup, later gradually when developers start taking advantage of the hardware, we'll see the huge leap with the bombshell titles dropping.

Nonetheless, the NGP is already a success, the two analogue sticks are what was missing from the first PSP, its already fixed in the upcoming device, as well as the killer specs starting from the sub-HD display and OLED screen. Dont forget about the first and third party support. Btw, some specs are still missing though, like the official battery life and details about the 2 cameras

Seriously, NGP = Nintendo Got Pwned :P, well lets wait and see.

Must...have..this...no seriously i want one but I can already see it coming Virgin Megastore NGP 789$ reason :its new and great ....like everything they sell overpriced even if its 200 years old . Sonyworld is even more perverted last time I was watching for a 3d led tv type hx 800 which retails everywhere in the world between 1400 and 2200 they wanted 4200!!!! WTF ...but hey there is still the possibility to get it in Europe I ll go there in summer.

Hopefully they will make some Devil may cry titles or resident evil or god of war (dreams)or we ll get ridge racer again:( and then...nothing....and then....a LOT of crap....and then....mayyyybeee ...something good.....
