I fixed my previous HP laptop there. A warning from now, they do really hate people. Very Very much.
hehehe, damn that bad....
you dont recommend them at all...professional wise ??
Codename47,

Out of curiosity, what hp laptop do you have and what are the problems?

I currently have a DV8 with the following problems

- Battery randomly stops charging
- Wireless turns off randomly
- Overheating like the sun.

and more...
yeah they do hate people. They overprice for nothing. I have a DV5 laptop that has a broken hinge. Ok my fault, but why should repairing the hinge require purchasing a whole new LCD screen for the laptop??? The current LCD works fine, so what's the matter CIS???
well, i have a dv6
the first problem i had was the battery and i changed it
then there were dead cells in the screen and i changed it too
fortunately these were during the warranty period
now
the battery failed again
the over heating is always there (probably the main cause of the recent problem
and the start button and the speaker are not working (a popular problem in the DV6
until recently it stopped working and it is not turning on and there is no sign that it is receiving any electricity
not even the fan...

If you're facing all these problems, i'd recommend that you change your laptop.
Repairing such problems will definitely cost you a fortune.

They do hate people, especially the ones in a hurry (like me). But still, they're professionals.
If you want to replace a battery, i highly recommend that you visit GCC store. Yesterday, i bought one battery, and one AC adapter for 50$ each. Tell the owner that Mireille Raad recommended that you visit his shop, a d get the battery. You might get some discounts :P
Thank you for your help hehe and recommendations
but the thing is i seriously dont know what's wrong with it, the charger worked fine on another hp laptop but my laptop is simply not turning on...
hmmmm probably i will use the "Mireille Raad" in other places and check the results
hehehe
but thanks again:)

Do not use this name at any military checkpoint. Otherwise, you'll be responsible for your own actions.
Hey Codename47,
i too have the same battery problem (which is caused by the battery itself, not the charger),
i fixed it the first time at ALCS - located at Jal el Dib, Plaza Center Block D - when my warranty was still valid, and now my battery is failing again (Stops charging when it gets under 40% or so, then recharges normally if taken out from laptop and replaced), and i don't have the intention of paying to replace it.

It seems HP batteries are sucking more and more by the time...

I am thinking of buying a DV6 3142... do you think it is a bad choice, just for being a HP :P
You know, i don't think it's the problem with HP as a company, but i think it's the crap they're selling us here. Most probably all HP laptops in store here in Lebanon are refurbished (even when they say they're not). That's why they're sucking so bad. I don't know about other brands, but i think Toshiba offers better quality laptops.
Well, performance wise my hp was actually good and i am one of the people who reallly take care of their latops hehehe, i dunno about this it may what you said

No it's not the crap they sell here. Take a look at their international support forum and you'll see that alot of people face the exact same problems.
correct xtrerm. i got my dv5 from dubai. my friend got his dv6 from here. both of us have similar problems (overheating like hell and the primary mouse button is broken from inside). my other friend recently got a dv6 from the usa, the primary mouse button broke in just a week. i think ill switch to mac for granted, the macbook pro is quite expensive, but the quality is for sure decent.

I got my DV8 about a year ago, it had great specs. Little did i know that my 5 year old toshiba would outperform it in just a year of use.

Yes, in terms of notebooks, Macbook Pro is the best option. I myself, will build a decent desktop PC for now. Going for an i7 960, 12GB DDR3, X58 MB, Nv 470GT, 128 SSD, ThermalTake case and a triple ViewSonic LED.
