In the greater scheme of the lebanese life it is amazing how everything ends up putting you back were you start no matter how hard you push forward change is a bad thing for some reason.
So i decided to go for the sodetel Gaming Dsl 512 kb package after reading about it on the forums i started to dream of those 150 ms day long pings and to be fully fair they were some sleepless nights. i went along payed my dues to the internet distributor doubt an isp even comes cloose to fit their discprtion or distributor for that matter anyways i compiled my portfolio of pappers no good thing is done without one of those ,gives a sence of exitment walking about being asked what is that i proudly reply i am getting dsl a huge smile on my face my chin so high it started to give me neck pains , but i did not mind for some reason the sales wemon yes wemon i went through two in order to get my application accepted i am lucky ppl go through their whole lives with a leg or the prospect of a highheal but i ended up having to go through 2 wemon girls infants never the less skirts in a single office for an application i presumed it is my allouring sexy voice on the phone asking for their bank accounts number or maybe my firm tone when i was going through the list of documents needed and my streamlined signature at the end.
so the paper work is done i sat their my calendar on the wall marking an x for the prospected day. i never imagined i would be so satisfied when i heared the phrase sir i am happy to tell you that in one month you will be the prowed owner of a dsl modem god dammit i wanted one of those since our neighbor al shakika got dsl in 2003 yes aparently shlon ino 2iza badak titwasil ma3 a7babak ma 2ilak 2illa khidmit al eternit al sari3
long story short i waited the month and no call strange i waited 2 more weeks and still no call i started to get agitated i ended up picking up the phone an calling sodetel myself yes the customer as is the case always in this god blessed country has to run around after the service provider and thank god i called then cos the sales women was abt to call me do you beleive it i sure did aparently she got a reply from ogero a day before th atis 1 month and 2 weeks have passed for those not keaping track and my luck happens that she received a report the day before, i called even though they did not have any problem with calling me once when i was asking were to pay them anyways the big speach came as follows sir it is a conspiracy i tell you ogero will not let us put you on the 512 plan at that stage i was cursing those conspiracy makers with their plans to ruin my internet experience, we cannot do anything abt it sir they just refuse to give you 512 they will only give you 128 in my childish heart i asked but why why are they doing this to me her reply came as well sir you need to call them but listen carefully don tell them you subscribed with us for internet just tell them you want to put a plan and c what they tell you .... at that point the idea going through my head was thank god i called or somone would be gasping for air at that stage. i went on but why the hell did you make me go through the whole fucking process the papers the payment and the waiting what kind of stupid shitty ass third world buisness r you in her reply came as blame canada for those south park fans out their kyles mom is a .. song is what i am aiming for anyways aparently citys are built around telephone centers not the other way around and all the ppl who get 13-20 mbps outside live in the same building as the telephone companies centrale .
So back to subject i am thinking of getting a fixed ip on my wise box with its louzy 2.5 gb plan i am interested in some feedback if it is worth the 20 extra dollars for the service as a sodetel curent user mainly ping times and wether it is stable all day long you know the usuall feedback from a person who has it or had it i am an online gammer and i enjoy my skype as opposed to the local international rates and i am fealing rapped with the sometimes over 700 ms pings to the sodetel gateway that i connect to even tho on an avergae the connection is in the 150-200 ms range to yahoo. so does fixed ip solve those spiky hours after 6 and what will i get as an actually ping ??
cheers for the feedback
by the way i would love to post a mail i got from their support team when i mailed them abt my lag but i suppose it would be literary trashing them further and the moderators would put me up as conspiring for the benefit of another khodarje.

Haha I like your post a lot!
But why Ogero didn't want you to have the 512k plan?
Back to the Topic: Technically Sodetel gaming package is the best for low latency (it is a shame that we have to pay for a low ping when it should be free)

The first sentence is priceless. I am beginning to think that change in this country will only happen by everyone sitting it out and refusing to do anything, Ghandy style.

Sodetel gaming package -was- the best, up until a week ago (I have no idea what they did), the static IP ping time suddenly went up by 70 - 100% with large amounts if jitter; support state there is absolutely no problem whatsoever; it's been ongoing for a week even at like 8 am when no one is using the connection; and don't get me started what happens at peak times.
Anyway to the point, DSL static IP -was- good, I don't recommend it anymore
Don't even bother with a wise modem static IP, the delay on that thing is even worse than what's happening with DSL, and it the ping goes up and down like hell with 200 ms differences every second.
Edit: I'd love to see those emails, PM please; something about the connection not performing at best due to the number of users online, or them telling you: this is within acceptable range, or something like: if you require best performance at all times please consider a dedicated connection; or they ask you to do the useless ping tests and email them then they toss another email at you that states its within acceptable range.
