Hi,

I spent some time reading up on the last few pages of threads and while I've seen complaints about all ISPs in Lebanon, I haven't seen any about TerraNet in particular.

I am a TerraNet DSL customer and I have been for almost three years now. I had picked TerraNet because they run a transparent operation without ridiculous "fair use" rules or any crippling of protocols.

Over the past year the connection has become horrible. It's totally non-functional between the hours of 23:00-02:00. Apart from that, it barely works at the best of times.

They are facing regular outages to their international link. Their DNS and/or proxy servers are not keeping up with requests.

Since Jan 1, 2011 my connection has become much worse and I am not sure how much more abuse I can take. Technical support doesn't answer the phone anymore.

I would like to know if anyone else is facing these problems or if they are unique to my connection.

Thanks.
Hey. I am a terranet user as well (512Kbps plan). When DSL came to Lebanon, I went with ogero until my quota couldn't take it anymore. I shifted to terranet for the unlimited and double speed. From that day, I regretted the change. No double speed, most downloads failed to complete, lost my public IP, and horrible speeds. Called Terranet several time, yada yada yada, same excuse from technical guy; check your router or "well this is DSL, which means a shared connection" (idiot). But then things improved. I am getting the advertised speed, and sometimes (just sometimes), I get the double speed. The unlimited works fine since the day I joined terranet so no complains there. Ping rates got better, and I am able to game online (most of the time). Weather changes do affect the connection. The last storm caused the connection to come worse. Ping rates jumped from 200ms to 2400ms+ (crazy). But after a month, things got better. Right now, I have a good connection, and ping rates are acceptable.
I am a terranet user also, i feel that terranet has the best connection behind ogero:
- stable ping most of time. (~130 on fiber,~300 on satellite)
- public IP
- great technical support (most of time)
- very few failures

I am very happy with terranet, but improvements is urgently required. (Speed, Quota)
I have been with Terra since march 2008. Never had an issue with the customer service, they are always polite and responsive. Yes there were few days of drops, but can you name any ISP that is always on the money. I download like 40 gigs every month since 2008. They have an FUP policy after 12 gigs.

As far as their latency goes, amkahal is spot on.

It is 8:03 pm, i am guessing they are not on satellite yet

Dears,
I have subscribed to terranet 256 lastweek installed the router it looks fine however i get 23.KBs down/sec is this normal or its just me?? Not all the time its more less during afternoon between 6 and 11 pm and it tops to 23KBs at 5 am in the early morning. So also I noticed by using Internet Download Manager that it opens 2 download chunks not 8 or 4 or etc simultanelously i mean . Any ideas why?

**** Solved*** Well the source I was downloading from is limited to 2 connections only :) I downloaded from Rapidshare using IDM solved the problem :) got 30KB/sec and of course not stable which is normal and happy with :)
I called TerraNet. The customer support claims that they have point link down, which is causing the speed/ping problem. No worries though, they usually solve any connection issues, so hopefully this one as well.
