1) Because of the high number of retards working at the ISPs in Lebanon. They choose WEP as the security protocol rather than WPA or WPA2.
So if your security proctocol of your WIFI is set to WEP, change it to WPA or WPA2. But the best way is to specify the Mac address that can connect to the Router.
2) Beware of what files you open, and always check the md5 hash of the file. If it's the same then it's safe, if not then you should beware. Or always open new files using a Sandbox program like Sandboxie.
I think if you look at the pictures you'll know what Sandboxie do.
3) Do not use the same password for all your accounts/emails.
4) Most Virus/stealers/rats are currently being crypted Runtime+Scantime so that the Antivirus won't be able to catch. + it's being binded with the Program.
What's a Crypter ?
A crypter is a program that makes the Virus FUD ( fully undetectable ).
2 types of crypters: Scantime crypters and Runtime+Scantime.
Scantime crypter: The virus won't be caught by the Antivirus when scanned but when ran only.
ST + RT crypter: The virus won't be caught by the Antivirus at all.
The virus will become detectable again but after a long time like a week+.
So you should beware, it's a serious problem.
5) If you opened a file before, that showed no action than it might be a Trojan/Rat/Stealer.. So what i would do if i were you is change all my passwords a.s.a.p.
6) Even thought the Antivirus is not a full solution for stopping getting infected, you should always update you AV.
There's a lot of Antiviruses out there, i mostly prefer Kaspersky / Bitdiffender. Other's might be good but i really hate Norton, it always detect False-positives. The Antivirus thinks that this file is a Virus but in fact it isn't
7) Beware of the Websites you visit, or what links you open from non trusted posts.
That's what was on my mind, there might be more, but can't remember right now. If i remembered anything, i'll add it right away.
