samer wroteI think that the sneak peak is quite misleading. I feel they are showing secondary features and keeping the good stuff till the official announcement. Hopefully, all of this is not wishful thinking, because quite frankly I am disappointed so far.
Don't forget that it's not necessarily the next major version of the OS. It's a minor version. What you should expect:
- Some new cool gadgets (a la Apple)
- Bug fixes
- Performance boost (since they make the hardware too, they can do great things there - and they usually do)
- Better support for other Apple products (and maaaaaybe foreign printers, but that's it!)
- Small polishing of the GUI.
Georges wroteBut their operating system, (in my opinion), should be way way way better than what it's currently like.
That
does not mean anything!!! It's not the first time you say something like that! You said the same thing about Microsoft once, how "they should've been better by now". You make no constructive argumentation about what you feel the limits of the product are, and you blindly criticize what is widely considered as the best desktop OS available today. If you have something against it, tell us what it is, don't pass on judgement.
Kassem wroteWhat features do you expect from OS so it won't disappoint you?
Freedom to manipulate my system the way I want to. My problem with Apple is how they want to force you to use their stuff
the way they decided to. For instance, anyone who owns a Mac will agree with me that there's nothing worse than using your folders to store you pictures on Mac OS. If you open one picture (by double clicking) and want to see the next one you cannot navigate through the whole folder with the arrows. You'll have to close the window and open a new one. That's
very annoying. To me the reason why Apple does that is so that it can push the use of iPhoto. I'm not criticizing iPhoto, I'm asking for a choice, my choice.
Bassem wroteThis would be too restrictive for a desktop OS.
Well... That wouldn't be the first time Apple acts restrictive now would it? :)
