Ideally, I would separate javascript from html, like for example:
CSS:
*[template] {
display: none;
}
HTML:
<table template>
<tr class="odd"></tr>
<tr class="even"></tr>
</table>
Then you create the table using jQuery calls - DOM functions, etc.
This is probably overkill for this particular case, but in other cases, the "template" model is good I think.
PS: I never actually tried that, it's just an idea I've been carrying for a while, waiting to test it.
