should there be a way to update console games by downloading patches from PCs & like the sony update, update them on the PS3 by the means of a USB ?

I find it hard downloading a 1GB file for Heavy Rain. idk how I'm going to download it, its too slow & then alows ends up with error & I have a 1MB connection.
I played heavy rain a while ago, it is a great game.
I suggest that you check what the 1GB file is adding.
Is it adding new scenes? new interactions?
It might be a file that allows the game to run with the playstation move.

If that is the case you might decide to play the game offline and forget about the 1GB file.

im guessing this is OUT of the question, but there is no way to download it lets say somehwere other than at home and then bring the updates and FTP them back ?

i guess this is only possible if someone has actually bothered to download and upload them somewhere on the internet ?

yeah, all the updates are available only from HOME, & u must have a PSN id. besides that there is no website that offers Console Games Updates, since these arent like PC patches can be installed from directory, instead they are installed directly from the downloaded temp file, ie (since the update is downloaded it must also run, otherwise it will be removed).

I can't install .net framework 1.1 I downloaded it and when I install it says before u install tools and samples u must install .net framework please help
you don't have to install v1.1, try using the latest version.
If you want the .net framework 1.1 you can find a link to downloaded on the same site where you get the proxy gui.

hey guys I am trying to download the premium battlefield DLC using this method but everytime I enter the link on the ps3 with the server set up to replace the file it shows on the computer that the link got replaced by the file but on the ps3 the speed is extremely slow due to my 256kbps connection so it seems that even if on the pc the server shows that it replaced the file the ps3 is still downloading from the internet not from the pc

Try to change the port that u are using, from both the PS3 and the PS3 Proxy Server Tool. I use the port 100.
does it work for you on 4.31 it's not working even with all kinds of ports it's not replacing the link

Yes it will work on Any download you start from the PS3 itself.
hey guys turns out it was working but the ETA calculated by the ps3 was wrong . the dlc (2.7GB) got downloaded in ~2 hours which is totally not a speed of 256kbps
