Ok so on another thread started by rolf, rahmu and Xsever got into a discussion about some Chrome builds. I am really interested in this subject mainly because I do not understand why are their different builds in the first place. I personally have the regular Google Chrome and Chrome Canary Build installed on my PC, but I never actually used the latter (I do not remember why I installed it in the first place).

So what do you have to say about this subject?
Chrome Builds are: final releases, beta, dev and canary (listed from most stable to least and from less frequently updated to most frequently updated)
The advantage of using the dev and canary builds is that you get new features before they're released in the stable channel.

The thread you linked to mentioned Chromium. Well that's another subject. All the builds I mentioned above are google chrome builds that are maintained by google. Chromium is another project which is based on chrome's open source code and therefore is another browser.

I've been using the dev release since day 1 of chrome and recommend you use it. It has become very stable and any major bugs are fixed within a week.
Same as Hitman6267, I have been using the Dev version and it's been pretty good. The latest version right now is 10.0.612.3.

I have the following extensions running flawlessly and Chrome starts very fast and loads pages even faster (unlike Firefox with extensions installed):

-LastPass
-Xmarks
-Smooth Scrolling
-AdBlock Plus
-Cooliris

As I said in the other thread, I was a die-hard Firefox fan and user, but lately it has been very slow especially in launching it and getting to the first page.

Since I live in Canada and I have a 14Mbps connection, browsing with Chrome is literally like browsing my hard drive!
