@dan961 they have problems with Minister Charbel nahhas?
Lebanese Govt. – FUCK YOU! – Lebanese Internet users take another blow
Maybe im the only one against protest but ill tell you why cause you dont know whos with you and suddenly it turns out against us because of some fool broke the law and did something, or other one shouted against politicians and stuff that you didnt think about before i would say you need a plan if you want to organize a protest ...
Till now i didnt see any protest that had any influence on anything so you need to the think what are the least outcomes would be, seriously you want to protest you need to think twice ...

@jajoja no influence, but let people know about it and thats the most important thing here.
Protesting is a good idea, but let's do it legally. We need to contact the Ministry of Defence and fill papers with the date and the time of the protest.
and whos going to do all of this ? another issue i thought about what if we all said lets protest and do that and this ..EddieEC wrotebut let's do it legally..
and just while we're heading to protest no one did because wait umm we are lebanese ? , i would say you need a table or something like that inside your college and let people sign that they're going .
Im in for a protest, and i agree with Eddie lets do it legally.

even tho the law states that you need to make a paper in the ministry of defense and they should agree... what i remember is that the ministry isnt giving rekhas for that :P... so you will get a rejection for sure :P
second it is illegal for a lot of people to be together
third you need people that think... and am not sure we have those in lebanon...
forth you need good organization

Yes they have serious problems with him!GreenM wrote@dan961 they have problems with Minister Charbel nahhas?
Good i idea guys but i prefer that we as a lebgeeks community make a move not reach any form of media because they are all politically related to a politician.
Yesterday i had a latency of over 1000+ms, when i got the latency results from speedtest.net all the politicians came to my mind in a bad way i wont tell you what i imagined!
About the Move that we should make: As i said before dont consider any form of media like TV Radio or even mags and newspapers because they are all linked to politicians or parties. So what i am suggesting is that we have some great bloggers here and they have other contacts of course so if they can spread an article about the issue to many Lebanese bloggers.
If you like the idea we should create a thread about it or just use this thread instead.

In that case let's contact NewTV, so it wouldn't be taken as a political protest. But first we need to plan things thoroughly and start recruiting protesters from universities and work places. And of course, we should contact some active blogs and have them write about the protest. Then spread the word over Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.dan961 wroteYes they have serious problems with him!GreenM wrote@dan961 they have problems with Minister Charbel nahhas?

Before we go too far, we need to get a good amount of protesters and guarantee they'll make it to the protest.
naaah, a protest is a bad idea, even if we did it properly it wont get us anywhere, besides I don't trust the bajam in this country,
it could easily become political protest or at least that's what they'll make the public think,
I'm with ZeRaw lets form a strong organization website, spread the word, make facebook groups,
I'm not sure but keep the ideas rolling people because we can certainly do something about this situation if we had the will.

The protest comes after you do all the stuff we already mentioned (i.e: spreading the word and gaining public support).MegaCool wroteI'm with ZeRaw lets form a strong organization website, spread the word, make facebook groups
Hmm how about we discuss this as soon as rahmu comes from France in a meeting?
MegaCool has a point in what he says in regards of it looking political.
This is where the whole idea will fail.EddieEC wroteBefore we go too far, we need to get a good amount of protesters and guarantee they'll make it to the protest.
Usually, protesters have an objective, while most of the online Lebanese people don't. Since their internet connection is more than enough to use Facebook and Windows Live Messenger.
What about something even more evil... Something that don't require such amount of protesters.
Few DDOS attacks on the important governmental websites, and showing at each website's homepage a message related to our demands will definitely get more attention than all other ways you're suggesting.
This way, Media can discuss that, in a non-political way, since there's no way to relate this to a politician or political party...
Two more ways to protest is by using Graffiti and by increasing social awareness to the shitty situation we're facing.

I'm not sure if its easy to acquire a "legal" authorization for the sake of forming a protest regarding the Internet situation, besides who will do it.Kassem wroteThe protest comes after you do all the stuff we already mentioned (i.e: spreading the word and gaining public support).MegaCool wroteI'm with ZeRaw lets form a strong organization website, spread the word, make facebook groups
