2X, I also want to ask if it's possible. like say, I bought BF2:BC2 on steam(which I did), is there someway possible to start downloading the game from steam in the begging, pause it, and copy the files from a copied disc so that all you would need to do is update the files?
It should work if none of the games core files are altered during installation. But since AC2 has the download manager and all, I think it comes altered already. That's what I'm asking for a confirmation.
Well a bit old but i checked this now.
It's not a trick or anything lol.
Lets say you bought AC2 and you already have it on a DVD cracked/patched.
You should follow this steps:
- Download like for 1min the game from steam then stop it.
- Install the game from the DVD to any folder.
- copy the contents of the folder to /steam/common/.... (not sure what after,i forgot)
- It will ask you if you wanna replace, press yes
finally update the game, so the missing files will be installed and corrupted/altered files will be replaced. But ofc you wont need to download a full 6gb game.
