  • Dr. Michio Kaku: "The World in 2030"

For those of you who don't know him, Michio Kaku is a theoretical physicist and probably the smartest person in our world.

Video Description
"The World in 2030: How Science will Affect Computers, Medicine, Jobs, Our Lifestyles and the Wealth of our Nations"
Its almost a 1 Hour long lecture, I know its brutal for Lebanese connections, but I downloaded the 240p quality, and it was really worth every single byte :P, extremely informative and entertaining.

skip to 05:40 where Kaku's lecture begin
Did he say anything about Lebanon still having the same internet speeds? :)

lol, good one :)
Definitely will download maybe 720p and copy it on PS3, he is worth it. I did the same for E3 2010.
I watch his show on Discovery science its really informative and he is a genius. I also watch his science of games on gametrailers.com.
I just finished it. Can't say he's a genius, though. He just explained what was coming. I'd have to watch his other shows where he actually explains the physics in detail. But man, that was scary. Chips connected to our brains? Glasses that can recreate worlds? Talk about mind-control!

And when a computer is worth $0.01 in 20 years, as he claims, it'll still be worth $2 in Lebanon because everything's so damn expensive here!
damn yea i've seen him many times on discovery talking about space stuff, he really is smart person, but i doubt our civilization will continue advancing in such pace in a few years natural resources will be depleted and i think it will be all regression from then on

Definitely, the short supply of natural resources will always make it hard. However remember the basic law of conservation of matter. No matter what we use up on Earth, no matter what we burn or make or produce, the amount of material will always stay them same. All we have to find out to do is how to utilize this material in whatever form it's in.
this guy's awesome ...
Just remember that futurists thought we'd have flying cars by now. Don't hold your breath.
In my opinion, Anything that deals with theories in full is not science !! This is Dr. Michio 7ayek !

You obviously know nothing about Dr. Kaku :)

@arithma
remember there are resources to build flying cars , but chances are they're not really efficient to use them by now,
not even in the distant future, Kaku is being very reasonable here, Just take a look how cellphones,
TV's and Computers were in 2005, and how they are now in 2010, that's only 5 years and there's certainly a huge leap
interns of power and efficiency.

Flying car is a mechanical invention... while cellphones and computers are electronic devices (I prefer to say they are computational devices, because future computers may not be electronic, maybe photonic).

I think, as kareem nasser said, that computational devices progression is moving toward a technological singularity, and that would explain why in the past 5 years there was a huge leap...
totally was worth downloading, i liked this quote : "Computers will be everywhere and nowhere"

and besides all the realistic stuff that dr kaku said in this lecture, i still think there is a possibility to have a future like this :

but... but.. the world ends in 2012 !!!!
