Chup sup =) ok here's the deal i have 700 products pictures each one is named like so : HP_Laptop_13''_pavillion.jpeg i have an excel sheet with a column containing those exact names and i don't feel like checking each and every one for typos ( considering both should be the exact same for the web designer ) i stored those pictures in a folder named M2 pictures i go to cmd and type-in dir "c:/users/Choop/desktop/M2 Pictures" i get all the pictures , then i mark the names, copy them to a text file , and import it to excel , remove duplicates, and the ones that don't get erased contain typos, simple =) only problem is when i DO input dir "c:/users/Choop/desktop/M2 Pictures", i get 201 pictures out of 700, raging from S till W any idea why ?
m0ei the dir command will display a list of files and subdirectories in a directory. not pretty sure about the problem but try: dir *.jpeg "folder patch" but i think this will do it : dir /p "folder path" let me know what happens ah didn't pay attention that you want to copy paste. try Padre command, it should work.
Padre you copy paste ? try this dir * /B /S >dir.txt should fix things :) forgot to say, the file names will be in dir.txt (where you issued the command) and /S for subdir
Georges Hello Chup. I wrote you a simple Windows Application program that will help you in getting all the file names in a specified directory. Here's a download link: (5 KB Only) : http://www.mediafire.com/?9nnz0abacfhbcbf The link will expire in 7 days. ~ Enjoy
