i dont know why i am bothering to answer this, i guess i am just bored ..
1- you can rent the copper cables from the local operator and install an end to end sdsl modem:

(depending on distance and quality of the copper pair, you can get somewhere in between 2mb and 10mb speed)
2- you can pull a fiber connection :P
purchase a single mode (long wave) fiber cable and pull it thru all the way point to point and use gbic/ethernet converters
3- install bridged WIFI repeaters every 20m all the way between you and your mate
4- there are other technical options as well but as for feasability, that is a different subject.
in short, if you have a distance of less than 100m, you have the money and will, you can purchase a 100m ethernet cable and interconnet two points. anything beyond would require more "attention"
I cant imagine how you would secure that no one would cut your 100m ethernet cable.
blah blah blah..
it is sad to see that someone is willing to spend and effort such as this to resolve a gaming issue. my point at this point is that in lebanon, if people would have been collaborative etc, they could have created a multi-mesh network interconnecting in between each other to circumvent the technical, commercial and bureaucratic obstacles but no, everyone wants to play to their own pocket :P
