  • International Space Shuttle - Seen like never before

Hello geeks,
I came across these pictures today and thought of sharing them... I hope you'll enjoy them as much as i do.

These are basically pictures taken from here (earth) of the International Space Station and other shuttles while crossing in front of the sun...

Atlantis Shuttle in his mission to Hubble Space Telescope:

The International Space Station (Higher Resolution Here)

I remember these from many months ago, breathtaking. And the Sun looks like a big stress-ball :)
Nice.
Looks like deathstar and thats han solo's ship :P (well a yellow deathstar)
Woah. Wait. In the second picture, are you telling me the little black thing is the space shuttle/station? That's impossible. They're not THAT big. That little spec of dust should be Earth, not the shuttle. Unless it's not drawn to scale?
Thats really interesting and I think it reflects how we as earthlings are just a bug in a huge universe. Just imagine how creepy yet cool the feeling would be for the astronauts in that shuttle right now as they are cruising through space.
'Jaw Dropping" I want one of them these cameras :S
the sun looks like a CG pre-rendered material.
About the space shuttle I'm amazed how its actually visible concerning the size of the sun compared to it.

I hope in our lifetime we discover some sort of energy that let us travel in the speed of light,
We don't even know 0.001% of universes secret, due to our primitive space travel technology,
I'm sure there are beings just like us wondering the same thing some millions of light years far away from our home.
Who knows!! probably they're "watching us"..

If they're traveling around, we might never see them. They might have unlocked a fourth dimension while we're still stuck with matter.
The shuttle in the second image looks like lens dust :P

What is more creepy and strange than the Universe in the human mind (the brain) .

This is a photo, so they're not drawn. IIRC it was taken by an amateur astronomer using a telescope fitted with a photo filter to make the Sun appear as it does.

As for the size of the craft relative to the Sun, don't forget that the Sun is roughly 150 million kilometres away, and the craft are much much closer. That is why they look relatively large.

Correct!
Even the first photo is taken by an amateur astronomer.
And in the second photo, you should check the higher resolution picture, (Zoom In). The large object is the Space Station, and the second smaller object is a space shuttle approaching the space station.
the fourth dimension is already discovered. it's called time. existence depends on spacial axis (which have 3 axis, thus 3 dimensions) and the time axis (the time dimension). right?
That's an outdated view, replaced by the spacetime model. However time is used as a helper when explaining 4-dimensional objects. (cube growing / shrinking over time = tesseract)

Thanks. Didn't think of that.
