Kassem wroteOkey now I'm almost 100% sure it's the Google Chrome update that is causing all this madness. How do I prevent it from running automatically? I could not find anything in the options... Do I have to stop the service from running on start-up?
Go to your windows services manager (Start --> Run --> Type in the box "
Services.msc" (quotes not included) and press enter).
Scroll down the list until you find
Google Update Service (gupdate). In your case, it should be set to
Delayed Start. From there, you can go to its
properties, and set the
Startup Type to Manual or Disabled.
