Actually 77.42.253.25 is the IP that refers to Google Chrome Updates. So could it be Google Chrome responsible of the whole mess?!

Notice the IP is almost exactly the same as the first one in the list, so there's a big chance that they're both owned by the same organization (i.e: Google)
Okey now I'm almost 100% sure it's the Google Chrome update that is causing all this madness. How do I prevent it from running automatically? I could not find anything in the options... Do I have to stop the service from running on start-up?

Go to your windows services manager (Start --> Run --> Type in the box "Services.msc" (quotes not included) and press enter).

Scroll down the list until you find Google Update Service (gupdate). In your case, it should be set to Delayed Start. From there, you can go to its properties, and set the Startup Type to Manual or Disabled.
I could not find the Google Update Service but I managed to remove the Google Update from the Start-Up processes (in msconfig).

But in this case, how do I run the Google Update? Does clicking the About Google Chrome menu item do the trick?
svchost used 270 mb worth of consumption last night =)
was going crazy to find out that DU label had " 48 kbps " down, for about 2 hours, opened task manager , performance , resource monitor , network and BAM !
SVchost ( 270 mb )
#FML
it seems that svchost.exe downloads windows updates silently.

@Kassem:
i am building my new list:
217.156.169.144
217.156.169.200
217.156.169.201
well the one that's eating my bandwidth is svchost (netsvcs) ....

The virus in the article I posted above injects itself into the scvhost.exe file and hides itself as a Windows service...

My friend is running windows 7 Home premium, he found out that this one was the culprit. He is still trying to eliminate it. Good luck.
