  • HTC Desire HD Internet Connection with MTC

Hi guys,
My sister just moved to Lebanon last week to live there for good (or as long as she can last...) As a farewell present, i bought her the HTC Desire HD.

Since her arrival in Lebanon, she's now connected to a fixed line from MTC Touch and managed to get her browser connected to the internet (i'm guessing WAP). But she's having problems connecting the Android Market, Gmail, or any other app to the internet.

I'm guessing it's something to do with MTC and told her to call them, but they are clueless on how to solve it, and keep changing her plan to see if it works by trial and error! (wow, very professional!)

I realise there is no 3G in lebanon, but is there a way to get apps connected to the net? Maybe GPRS? Can anyone pls provide the APNs or suggestions on what to do to get this resolved?

cheers guys,
Simon
hey, i am about to get an HTC Desire hd but havn't figured out the solution for the internet problem. the thing is, over here in lebanon we only have 2 carrier mtc and alfa, so we dnt have much of a choice in anything. the internet your sister is probily and most likely using is wap. tell her to ask the company for a buisness line/internet deal..if that doesn't work either, tell her to ask them if they could give her the blackberry deal because that would work a 100% (just if they'd agree) .. if nothing works, i'll try to write you soon because im going down to the main offices to find a solution AS SOON AS i get my htc desire hd .. the only problem is that i am currently an Alfa subscriber not MTC so incase only Alfa could solve the problem im guessing your sister would have to swich carriers.
WIFI is your only hope.

I thought i'll update you, The DHD is an awesome phone and my sister is loving it. Seems most places u go to have wifi and she managed to get apps, market, and widgets working on GPRS.

Thanx for the help mate, you won't regret buying this phone.
