Qatar or Dubai

I was born in Qatar, and have lived there for 13 years (I'm 16 now). The country is nice, they really take care of everything over there. You can find a LOT of Lebanese people there.

I went to Dubai, and I don't think you can find the same social life in Qatar. I've never been to Qatar, but a Friend has worked there for years and to quote him "there's nothing there". You can't really take his word, I'm sure there are things to be done there, but it is my overall impression that Qatar is a bit dead when it comes to going out and such. Whether I'm right or not remains to be proven.

I enjoyed my life in Qatar way more than I enjoy it in Lebanon. I used to hang out with Lebanese friends, in Malls, make projects every single week. @rolf it depends in which area. The only place with life there is the capital Doha, where I lived.

In my personal opinion, I found Qatar full of sand and has way less social life and things to do than Dubai. As EddieEC was saying there is no life at all outside Doha. Not to mention that if you like to have some nightlife (or alcohol) it is harder and more expensive in Qatar.

Dubai was more civilized the last time I was there and it offered more options and facilities than Qatar. You can even compare living in Dubai to living in the US. It has more to offer in nightlife and activities.

The only thing you should consider is your career and how will it evolve if you work in Dubai (economy is failing) or Qatar (economy is growing especially if they host the world cup...).

Never visited Dubai except when I was 5 for vacation. I am pretty sure Dubai social life is way way better. But I agree one what ZeRaW is saying about the economy.

Well there you don't actually stay out all day in the heat, and almost everywhere you go is air conditioned. When I was there, I never felt the heat.
