Hello everyone!

I am a senior in a highschool at Dubai at the moment, and will move to Lebanon once I graduate. The university I'm aiming for is AUB, and I have a couple of questions for people on this forum who might have studied there, what was their SAT scores etc etc.

The major I have in mind is Psychology, although I have to do my freshman year first of course. My scores on the SAT were:

Maths: 590
Critical Reading: 550
Writing: 600
Total Score: 1740

My average in grade 10 wasn't too good (I'd say a C+/B-) but I have improved since then, and got an average of 89 during grade 11, B+/A- basically. I'm also taking AP biology this year, and just scored a 94/100 on my first quarter exam, and hoping to continue this way

Basically my question is, are my grades and SAT scores good enough to get accepted into AUB?

Thanks in advance.
Yes, both are good. Keep your school grades the way they are and you'll go in. Your SAT scores are fine. Freshman requirements aren't that hard.
I am a senior in Lebanon and im applying as well to AUB this year.
My SAT scores: Critical: 610
Math: 700
Writing: 680

for a total of 1990
I'm applying for Electrical and Computer Engineering

AUB takes only your Critical Reading and Math sections , so over 1600 not 2400
it depends on what faculty you are applying to: for example:

You need a minimum of
Freshman: 1050
Sophomore Arts and Nursing: 1100
Sophomore Sciences and Economics: 1200
First year Graphic Design: 1200
First year all faculties (agricultural and food sciences, health sciences, and business) Except engineering and architect: 1200
First year engineering and architect: 1250

I think psychology is in the sciences faculty im not sure. go to the aub website!

For scolarships: my sister who scored 2190 received one of 10 merit scolarships to AUB last year, and im trying to walk in her step. nshalla :)
so im retaking the SAT in december

and yes i would as well like to know some of the lebgeeks SAT scores here thanks

This is somewhat inaccurate, people always mix things up when it comes to these "minimum scores".
These are the minimum scores to be able to apply for Early Admission. No big benefits except that you get the answer four months earlier then other students.
So this minimum scores are a concern only for early applications. For regular admission, decisions are relative to the other students applying: They accept a certain number of students according to their rank. The rank is given by a formula that involves both school grades and SAT grades. People who were top of their school classes with SAT scores of less then 1250 got accepted into engineering (I had 700 math, 500 reading, and I am a CCE student, and I don't know someone inside :P). So for example, they accept the best 100 applicants to CCE, there is no absolute criteria. In the most concise way, each student's chances depend on his/her competition in the concerned department. People who had better grades then me did not get accepted the year before me.

That was what I was just about to say. The "minimum scores" are such a joke. I had many friends get into their fields even when they didn't get higher than the "minimum score." A lot of it depends on ranks and numbers of students applying to that department.
Psychology is in FAS so you need a 1200 on your math and critical reading to get in early.
3 months later
Kris93,
I studied in chouiefat shj and graduated last year ! I'm a freshman in AUB and wanna get into civil eng.
For freshman acceptance you need a SAT score of 900/1600 ( Math and Critical ) and 1050/1600 for early admission. Your SAT score is good ! You don't have to do it again but wouldn't hurt if you did !
Oh and AUB f*cks freshman up so if you could get in as a sophomore then don't hesitate on doing so. Do as many APs as u can ! But preferably A levels !
Anyways good luck :)
hmmm

the grades...
... aub you say?
...

the thought of inquiring on such a subject on a geeky forum in relation to psychology just does not add up in my math book!!

why in the hell would you inquire on non-geek related study subject in a geek oriented forum? have you lost your balls? are you sure that you have the wits to study psychology especially in such a "prestige" institution as AUB?

btw, do note that my answer was influenced by a bottle of red wine (vintage 2007)!
