Yup, I've seen a demonstration on Future TV where they showed a film that was entirely taken (and probably edited - not sure though) using the N8. I was very impressed. They also showed how 3 home pages can be used which could be very handy if you're an applications' fan. Finally, they showed how you could scratch the cover of the N8 then wipe it with your fingers and you've got a brand new phone! :)
Again, what Apps? Nokia devices are not made for apps, they are made for telephony.
If you want apps, get an android or an iphone.
Well, there's Skype, WhatsApp, and I'm sure a bunch of other apps which are perfectly valid, probably even enough to fill 3 home pages :)
i got a samsung galaxy s a couple of months ago and i am more than happy with it software and hardware wise.
rolf wroteErr... thanks for the very... uhm... insightful... review...
Sorry, i wrote the reply from my phone and couldn't elaborate. Anyways here are some remarks, pros and cons and the lot:

1- It's incredibly light, my iPhone is considered "very" heavy compared to the N8
2- It cost me about 600$, it's a rare item to find with a guarantee, but you could find it cheaper. One thing though, you'll find it cheaper with a guarantee than without (weird huh?).
3- The camera is 12mp, it takes pretty sweet pictures.
4- The video part is advertised as recording 720p but i believe someone already mentioned that you need good light to really benefit from it. It's "ok".
5- It's very polluted with stufff your really don't need on the home screen. Although you can remove those.
6- The clicks are a little bulky, It feels like you really need to hammer the device to get your tap through.
7- OVI store is just ugly. Numerous steps to get an app.
8- I really love the hdmi out. You can plug in your phone to your TV and you'll get the entire screen on the TV.

More to come, but really, perhaps i'm too used to iPhone but i wouldn't recommend it. For the price of the N8, you could just get an iPhone 3GS and install iOS4.
Facts: Samsung Galaxy S is beating the iphone 4 in the USA
Unless you want to use a phone that has the same OS for 3 years (insignificant updates) , the iphone 4 is overpriced in Lebanon because they think that the hype for the apple brand is still high while Android phones are eating the apple more and more

How much does a Samsung Galaxy S cost in Lebanon? I've seen/heard/read nothing but great reviews about this phone, so I might be interested. I still like the Nokia N8 though... :/
Nice try but it talks about the old Motorola Milestone ,actually the N1/Desire/GalaxyS are 2.5x faster than iphone 3gs
I tried Talking Tom 3d on 3gs and Nexus One...the N1 opened it instantly while the 3gs needed 10sec

Here a comparison of speed given by a Nexus One with Rodriguez Custom Rom on top

What do you mean nice try?
If you read it:
Android OS does not take advantage of GPU rendering for UI.
You should continue the sentence dude: I think it is pretty amazing that a device with a GPU like the
droid/milestone does not use the GPU to make the UI and browsing more
smooth.
... He is mocking google OS not giving a compliment.
Continue reading the whole paragraph:
The benefits are obvious:
- a better experience (more like the I phone) in almost every single
function on the phone
- the phone uses less power (the gpu is much more efficient at handling
graphics functions than the cpu)
- the cpu would have more resources available to handle touch input or data
events
it is not about the droid/milestone but about the OS in general.
if you have the latest Galaxy S which runs the latest android OS, you still have the same problem.

By Smoothness they mean:
- for android OS to have a nice looking UI, they use software rendering kinda like using a built in graphic card.
- iphone uses a dedicated GPU so technically it will always be smoother.
Dude you have billions of user comments good or bad about ALL the phones over the world, you can't say he's right specially based on an old model,it's like if I compare the blackberry of 2008 with one of the 2010 line...Or a golf of the 80s with a 2011 golf!
You are inducing people in errors here.
And about games/gpu as I said it's 2.5X faster than iphone 3GS, go and try the same 3D game on both device (Desire or Galaxy S) and you will see the huge difference.

Ok now here is a summary of ISSUES ON IPHONE 4: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/iphone-4-problems-what-users-complain-about-the-most/
Given by tons of users about th latest iphone 4 and not a single user comment on a motorola phone that has nothing to do with Desire/Galaxy S
@Vegetaleb yeah those are the people complaining about the iPhone 4 issues. They nag too much. I have an iPhone 4 and I am extremely happy with it, no issues what so ever. I said in another thread, the issues might be related to the first iPhone 4 batch that got manufactured.
Android is fragmented. Everyone knows that for a fact. Major developers said that, one of them being Rovio, the ones who made Angry birds, and they said it was a pain developing for Android. Apps on Android aren't good, but some aren't bad. They can't be compared to iOS ones. iOS apps are far more superior.

About Samsung Galaxy S outselling iPhone 4 in the US, can you please tell me how many carriers are selling the device? Oh yeah that's right 4. iPhone 4? 1.

Android is made so manufacturers can make a smartphone.
iOS is made so people can use a smartphone.

You might ask me how can I say that about Android? Well I bought 2 Android phones in the past, first one, I sold it 1 month after buying it. Second one, a Nexus One, I liked it hardware wise, but android just isn't worth it. Got an iPhone 4, and I'm happy. Before getting the Nexus One, I thought Android was great, reading reviews. From personal experience, it's extremely bad.
Well you never had a Nexus One,it's obvious :)
I know no one who ever sold a N1 for an iphone 4 because the N1 outclass the ios 4 in every ways.
About apps and games on Android...they are just the same as on ios with the difference to be open source Linux and to have a very fast growth in numbers, apps increased in 3 months as a whole year for ios.
How many custom roms you have on Iphone 4 or 3GS? 0
While on new Android devices you have everyday new custom roms in case you are bored ;)
iphone 4 has no success at all nor in Lebanon nor in the US
