4 years after release, the PS3 finally gave in. Supposedly the uncrackable gaming console, the PS3 community has been recently exploding with new hacks and homebrew. With the release of PSJailbreak a few weeks ago allowing PS3s running firmware 3.41 and below to run unsigned games, and the recent release of PSDowngrade allowing users running 3.42 and above to return to 3.41, the PS3 has turned out to be pretty much exploitable.
I am interested in jailbreaking my PS3, anyone out there has tried it yet? If yes, then how well does it function? Freezes, loading times, online play, bans....anything you can share.

Sony has recently changed their terms of service and they've included a section that details their full freedom in instituting console bans on any users found to have hacked, jailbroken or modified their console. So basically they can now do what microsoft does every once in a while around major game releases.

Yup Elchebib is right, i dont see hacking is going to be as good as it was in the old PS2 days(or sixth-generation video game consoles) because everything is being digitally connected to the internet so the developers of your console have 100% control over it.

a cheaper and more logical alternative is for you to buy a used xbox for your offline gaming, and leave the online gaming to your PS3
i'm just saying =)

it is actually just much more better and cheaper getting an offline 360 and an online Ps3
.. i learnt the hard way.
