  • Xbox 360 - AP25 protection and latest CFW

I think we can now safely say that you should on no basis whatsoever update to latest kinect dash (9199) it will render some games unplayable on ixtreme 1.51, 1.6, 1.61 and 1.6 NS - and no activate ISO (we call it boot disc here) will not work.

Made this topic since Assassins Creed just hit the scene - well some 2 days ago now, so for those who were willing to play it well you wont be able to

now the solution: we must wait for LT+; apprently coming sometime near christmas, C4va is hard at work, also introducing the firmware to Slim models; be patient

NOTE: Ap25 protections do NOT apply to hitachi and samsung (if you still have a living one :P ) so you CAN in theory update, however i have heard rumors that still some people are unable to play so yeah at your own risk.

and if you really really want to play this game ? - for now you going to have to buy it, heck if the multi player is gna be good then i will pick this up for the PS3

acb and fable 3 and hasbro family night have ap 2.5 also 1.9199 is not the kinect dashboard its 2.0690 or something like this , also nino will have lt+ as soon as its released in a week or so.
9199 is the first of the first kinect dashes that came with the ap25 checks

i perosnally dnt need LT+ for many reasons.

i dnt play on Live, im banned

it uses strict Splitvid for games i.e. older games will have to be reburned so thats really a no go with me

hopefully they will come out with some variant of ixtreme 1.7 ? just for us offliners that is.

either way, yes you will have to flash your drives soon again, for me ill just break it open and flash myself - how much does this Nino take for reflashes , 25$ i here?
Ive tried to do some digging but cant find the answer im looking for. I haven't connected to XBL in nearly 2 years and have LT 1.2 on my benq drive. How does ap2.5 affect offline play? Would assassins creed/ fable 3 be playable offline w/o the update, or would i just be burning coasters until LT+ regardless

ap2.5 affects online play in the sense if you boot an ap2.5 game and you aren't protected you most probably will be flagged and banned - plus there is the issue of the game not booting at all :P

all games with ap2.5 and latest do not boot - even on old dashboard (with exception to FABLE III)

i.e. if you are still on old dash Fable III is good to go - problem comes with AC:B and NFS: Hot Pursuit - they come with latest kinect dashboard update that implements these checks for ap2.5, and the only way around this is LT+

This method creates a loophole in the AP2.5 protection and allows you to play AP2.5 games on a 360 with LT firmware. This is not safe for XBL but works guaranteed. Also, you must be running dashboard 2.0.9199 or earlier. Step by step instructions are included in the torrent also.


Step One: Extract UPD-KIN-ADV.rar to (fat32) USB storage device.
Step Two: Plug USB storage into 360 while powered off.
Step Three: Turn on 360 and install update.
Step Four: Delete update folder from USB device.
Step Five: Extract UPD-KIN-ANI.rar to USB device.
Step Six: Repeat Steps 2 and 3.
Step Seven: Insert an unpatched Assassin's Creed Brotherhood copy and install update.
Step Eight: Play!

applly first the 9199 update - its on the xbox website jsut google "xbox 360 update"

then Install update Kinect adventure -

then install Kinect animals update

after take out cd, put in "boot disc" take it out, put in AC:B and play !

(this is considering your still on a "un-kinect" dashboard, + Lite-On and all affect drives so Ben-Q as well + 1.6 with boot disc you will still need to use this as usual)

then again if you still have in mind online play go flash to LT+
i dont play xbox live anymore , pc pwns, so i dont mind doing this :)

soo tday i got AC B and i got the unreadbale disk error :( and the dashboard version is 2.0...16 or smth like that but i can play fable 3 just fine im new to this and im cofused i don't know about this very much could anyone help ??
@online did you update the kinect update? give me the exact dash version , also can you access xbox live without having to update(dont update now) , and fable 3 has worked then maybe the problem is from the acb disc.
i got it for christmas it was already updated to 2.0.12416.0 and it can play copied disks so i cant get to live

mm i think its because of the disc , i think you bought with it already updated to lt+ , where did you get it from(the xbox)? go exchange the disc and make sure it was patched for lt+ . If you have the space install acb if it doesn't install completely telling you clean the disc that means the disc is scratched .
i don't think its the disk but im gonna try flashing it to lt+ but thx for your help :)

hello i just want to ask you how do we flash our xbox to lt+
because i uodated mine to the new dashboard but now i cant play acb or need fir speed ....
you have to patch the game and re burn it it will work last week Microsoft activated the AP 2.5 on black ops and mw2 and reach and i ripped black ops and patched it and re burned it and the game is working and i play ONLY online

you shouldn't have any problems with AC:B - check your discs.
I'm new to the xbox 360, and I need to know if I can play online with copied games without being banned. If there's a way what exactly I need to do? I have the slim that has the kinect update.

hey guys i have the xbox 360 slim 4GB with the kinect it is not modded yet so need a little help here ,the release date of the xbox i bought is 23-9-2010 i researched a bit and i have the liteon 0225 drive, so plz if anyone know if i can modify this xbox/flash it? and if i can plz where?

I don't think it can be modded because from what I know only xboxes with a release date of 7-2010 can be modded otherwise it can't be. (I once called a shop called Nino and asked the same question and he said the above information) but still, you could check maybe something changed since I called.
