  • Typing Arabic Fonts in Adobe Software

Hey everyone,

Has any of you tried typing using Arabic fonts in Adobe Photoshop? If it's not the ME edition, the font gets messed up and it doesn't come out right. Is there any way I could fix that?
Other than using the ME version? There is a software called Al-Rassam Al-Arabi made specially for this purpose.

What it does is: it installs its own suite of fonts that are "faux-arabic." Then, you launch the program and type what you need to type. You copy it from there into Photoshop and select one of its special fonts. Tada! It looks like normal Arabic.

One drawback is a limited selection of fonts that all look generic.

Edit:
PS. This is an old software but it does run on XP. I don't know about Vista/7. It's also not free.
if the characters are appearing but are dispatched, you might want to use Arabic Mac Photoshop, a nifty script.
This JavaScript plugin re-shapes the characters into the appropriate ligature, then reverses the text so that it displays in the proper direction (right-to-left).

Aha, that seems interesting. As you know, I'm using Windows. I downloaded the script file and tried to run it but it did not run. It has a .download extension. What am I supposed to do?
