Hello Everyone. I'm having a problem in turning on my desktop. 2 days ago, system was working fine. Yesterday, suddenly, my computer decided not to turn on. I thought it's a Power Supply problem. But I have a heavy duty thermaltake 1200 watt PSU that should last me at least a couple of years. I even hardwired the thing and the PSU turned on (even the switch in the back has an LED, and the LED is on). I even noticed that the mobo has an LED on that shows that the electricity is flowing in the circuits, and still the system is not turning on. I stripped every hardware I have in the case and kept the basics; cpu, mobo, ram, PSU. Still the PC doesnt turn on. I removed the RAM, tried again, and still no spark. Could it be a mobo problem even if the mobo circuit LED is turning on?
try changing the psu ...it happens to me allot...

I dont think its a PSU problem. I hardwired it and it's turning on. Fan is turning, switch light is going on. If the PSU had a problem, then it shouldn't have turned on at all
you should have checked the power on switch before taking anything apart ...yes i mean the "clicker"
what you do is follow the wires right to the board , remove them , get a screwdriver ( - ) , and just connect the two ends together by touching them at the same time
so basically you're gonna assume the clicker isn't working, and you're gonna do the job for it

it's the red-ish rectangle with metal things coming out of :P
and be sure to follow the wires from the clicker to know which sticks to connect

Yeah I did check if its a Power Switch problem, but it isnt too. I used the reset button as the power on switch but still problem not solved.
You have tried everything I can think of. I am thinking that even if the MB is getting power and the LED is on, it could still have some fault.
do you have a "voltmetre" ?
does the light in the front of the case is flashing then goes off...???
no, it doesnt even turn on at all. I mean I am sure the mobo is getting the power it needs. It's just not turning on, very weird.
I think the fight is between PSU and the Mobo. SO, what I'll do is plug the PSU on to my bro's computer and see if it will power it up. If it does, then PSU is fine. Then I'll use his PSU and his CPU and see if the mobo will work. Hope I get some results :(
Id also recommend measuring voltages coming from the psu using a multimeter.
dont worry, PSU working fine on his rig. It's a motherboard problem. Stupid Asus quallity, last time i buy Asus sh*t. I had to get a gigabyte mobo. By the way, the LED on the motherboard is just for show. Even if it is turning on, it doesnt indicate the motherboard is working. this expensive Asus mobo costed me alot of money, and only lasted 3 years (even with my extreme supervision on temps and bios settings)
