  • xbox fall update and ban wave 2010

Ok so the new update is out i read on xbox scene that it has ap 2.5(Protection) against piracy. It doesn't let you play back ups (fable 3 is one of the affected titles) if your fw is modded and also samsung drives are safe . Here is my question how do i know if my fw is modded and what is my drive ? Also i bought my xbox from nino in june its the 250 gb jasper one. thanks in advance .

Here i go:

Check the back of the 360 and look at the MFR Date: If its 2008 - 200+ then its a Lite-on Drive i.e not a samsung or Hitanchi which are not affected by these AP25 protections

then again what exactly are these ap25 protections

first of which it seems NO ban wave this year, these ap25 checks are just some more annoynaces for us pirates, in other words there are new checks on discs that only the orignal games can "sync" with either flashed or normal drive

in other words if you wish to play Fable 3 on the latest 9199 dash update (dubbed "Kinect") you will have to buy the original game.

It is uncertain weather the ap25 checks will to added to later games coming, so update at our own risk

However, C4va , the dude responsible for the custom firmware is working on LT+ (the new ta3deel) and will support ap25 checks for Ben-Q and Lite-on Drives ETA is some maybe at the end of this year - dnt count on it though

now for us offliners (ppl that dnt play on live):

Do not update to latest kinect dashboard if you wish to play Fable III

so far its bundled with some games - not big titles i think Hasboro Family something (some shovel ware) so yeah dnt update - it seems the only way around is for now is to play it safe and wait for solution or jsut wave patch games

Feel free to update to the Beta Kinect Dashboard (it doesn't come with ap25 checks) - but as of now yes we are looking at another trip down to the store for another flash, or if your clever enough just not updating and wave changing discs

- either way it sucks for those who wish to play pirated copies online.
yeah only fable and hasbro games has updare cod black ops doesn't need the update , kinect games need it and no ap protection so we are safe. there is a new update coming lt+ to bypass the update so i will take it to nino when it comes out. Also you can play online now without xbl thanks to xbslink there is a thread on it.
The ban wave will happen it's a matter of time only.

eh eh eventually - but this LT firmware is doing its job really well for now; just like to add i have cousin still running ixtreme 1.6 and still no ban - it really does seem that Microsoft have some kind of switch that they just flick when they feel like banning and what not.

their bannings ALWAYS happen before big updates

i.e the update from pre-nxe to nxe, the one that added facebook and last.fm last year, and now was the kinect dash.

and no ban - maybe a Christmas new year surprise in for the pirates this year :S

hello i just want to ask you how can i make my kinect work on my old xbox 360 elite without bricking the mod.
btw i don't care if it doesn't let me play fable 3 but as long as it lets me play some old games its fine.

just install the update , it wont brick or disable anything , you will have to update it to lt+ if u want to play some new games like acb , nfs , ea sports active 2 all other kinect and normal games will work

you can do it yourself there are some guides to tell u how but it involves unplugging the drive , buying a toolkit and such just go to a place and he will do it for you it will cost a max 30$ , btw what is your 360s model and when did u get it??
i have the xbox 360 elite not the slim one and i got it this summer like june 2010
that is easy , take it to a shop it wont cost much , and you can play kinect games (except ea sports active 2) but most new games in the future will have ap 2.5 so update it as soon as possible
