so i wanna find out my laptop's product number to download the drivers for windows 7 ( recently removed vista )
such as touchpad settings, webcam settings etc etc ...here's my pickle :
i go to hp's website i can either look for the product number at the back of my laptop, or i download a tool that gives me the exact number, so i downloaded it , i get this :
Possible reasons why the results might not have been as expected:
* Your HP Product is not supported by this tool. See list below.
* Your directly connected product is turned off.
* Your directly connected product is in sleep mode.
* The USB or parallel cable is not connected.
* Your wireless printer is not turned on or properly connected to the network.
* Product name/number is close but does not match what is shown on the product.
Sometimes the label on the product has a generic name rather than the specific product name. For this situation, the product name found in this tool should be correct.
* Products appear in the list that you no longer use or are no longer connected or networked.
This detection tool sometimes finds older printer information stored on your computer in addition to the current products you use.
* We were not able to retrieve your serial number and/or product number information to assist you in checking your warranty information.
nevertheless, the label on the back of my laptop:
1:DV6880ee (model number )
2:ff615EA#ABV ( Product number )
3:HP Pavilion DV6700 ( product name )
when i go to the download drivers page , they ask for the
PRODUCT NUMBER along with the name, i do that , i get almost 300 dv6700-ish laptops...
how can i fix the tool that finds out my exact product number ( if anyone had that problem )
if not, can u tell me what to type exactly ?
thx =)
