Shatilov wroteso you guys think I will be better of with a GTX480 ?
and wont the Q6600 @ 3.0 be a bottleneck for the GTX480 ?
Any quad core less than 3.4Ghz will bottleneck even the GTX 260 at your resolution. My CPU (the Q6600, as well) should bottleneck my GTX 260, but it doesn't because I play at 1280x1024. Honestly, don't waste your money on a new mobo and don't waste your money on a useless GTX 480. Stick with your GTX 275 (excellent card) and buy a new CPU. The i7's are too expensive. What you could buy is the AMD Phenom 2 x6. That's a hexa core CPU right there. You'll also have to buy an AMD mobo but they're much cheaper and the total should come out to about 500 dollars including VAT from pcandparts. And the good thing about AMD's is that they run cooler and are actually tuned to be overclocked, so you can get that hexa core running at 3.6-4.0Ghz on air cooling. That's a bottleneck-free system right there for many years to come.
PS. If you really must get an i7, don't get the 800 series. Get the 900 series. They use the LGA 1366 socket that allows for Intel's new 6 core CPU's. If you waste your money on an LGA 1156 mobo for the 800 series, you won't be future-proofed.
