Geohot can be arrogant and full of crap, but what he did was for a good cause. He released it first, because chronic dev team were still going to release it even after he announced the release date. That way, they don't release their exploit, so apple can fix both in the next generation phones. SHAtter is now saved for the iPhone 5, iPT5g and the iPad 2. It's a good move in my opinion.
