I am well aware that this has been discussed before but when i used the search function i only got a topic that was created back in March. So my question, is the gaming account from Sodetel still as good as it was mentioned in the previous topic and do you recommend that i pay these $22 for it? Please keep in mind that i would definitely like to use it for gaming purposes, for mmorpg such as Aion and for FPS games and PES of course.

Any help is much appreciated :).
IMO sodetel is going down, it looks like they get more and more customers, yet they forget about their service. About the gaming package, it probably will work, and it probably is still good but there is no guarantee. I have it even though i don't find a use for it anymore, YET my latency is constant. I guess it is worth it, but don't just count on this post I might be completely wrong.

Overall sodetel is annoying and they aren't that great but they might still be better than others. So, yeah try it and if it fails cancel it :P...but when i used to play games like COD, even on european servers, i barely enjoyed anything even with this package i still felt the lag and just quit everything. I had around 160 MS which is good but still annoying when u play a fps; so if you're a real gamer, you have to get this package...either way you're owned by the failure of the lebanese net...
well judging by many friends of mine who are subscribed with ogero, they have no problems at all when it comes to online gaming...but here's the catch
512 mb ogero is 44 $ and you'll get a 150 ms latency that's for sure
but i have a friend who has a 2mb connection from ogero, and he doesn't experience lag at all....at all
so my vote goes to ogero, better get the internet directly from the source
learn from my mistakes :P
Thanks for your feedback guys. As mention by Xhack, the reason i'm going for Sodetel's Gaming Package and not Ogero's 1Mbit is simply because of the unlimited quota during the night.

Usually on my current 512 connection from Sodetel, i get around 250-300 ms in Aion and a laggy performance in PES. As i recall, i used a software called Battleping which reduces your ms significantly and it helped me in getting 100ms in Aion, but sadly the software has terminated its beta phase and now charges you for a significant fee.

I am going to try the Gaming account for the month of November and test it heavily and see if it satisfies my gaming needs or not.

Thanks again for all the tips :).

It seems to be working well for me, I have a 1MB connection from sodetel , & a gaming account,
I get pings on servers that ranges from 90 ~ 400 pings, & everything less than 250ms is playable for me.

Dear Shatilov. Does Sodetel 1MB only without Gaming Package work for COD Blackops all the day time? will it have good ping for online gaming?

Anyone can help please? :O

Regards.

Just get a 512 Gaming package which is the normal 512 sub+Fixed Ip

I used to get 90-100 constant on all european servers ...and used to play a lot of css and tf2 on steam servers with no problems...and Crossfire which is a nice freeTOplay fps game.
Umm..thanks dude but fixed ip is +$22 vs 1 MB $32;[ ( +$10 ) + 1 Extra GB + more bandwidth with more double speed at night ], so if 1MB is good for online gaming that will be wiser and more beneficial for me.

Any idea about 1MB?!

1 Mb sub is 60$/month not 32...
And you get 5Gb of down/up bandwith
Sorry i meant: $32 will be added instead of $22 between 512 with Fixed ip VS 1 MB.
No. Sodetel said $77 for 1 MB.
Yes i know how the connection of 1 MB goes but my question is regarding online gaming and ping...

Thanks
Just out of curiosity has anyone tried to purchase a VPS or VPN for a provider that has the lowest latency to sodetel or other providers ? I think most of the problems come from the poor peering so you could use the sodetel links to get to your VPS/VPN provider then hop on that providers connections to the destination.

I'm assuming the links favor tier-1 providers who in turn favor their own network to get from A to B, a good tier-2 provider (via a VPN) might be a better bet especially if they use FCP (Flow control platform).

aha. and how can we get that? whom to call?

and by the way sodetel's 1 MB package only without fixed ip didn't change anything in the ping ms :/
