Hello All,
I will visiting Lebanon this month, but i need to do some work remotly (software development) while I am visiting. I don't know anything about internet in Lebanon, what is available and prices. I will be residing in rasmaska, North of lebanon, Near Tripoly (10 min). My Questions are:
1. What is the best reliable interent connection there (I checked Ogero, 300,000LB for 2MB down wawww expensive, is there anything better?)
2. I am in Ottawa, Canada, would a Bell DSL modem works in lebanon? how about Linksys Wireless Routers?
Any help or advice will be very much appreciated. I need a decent upload and download speed for vpn connection to Canada.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Any hardware will work. You just need to configure them properly in addition to having an internet account at an ISP. I am sorry to tell you that you will be disappointed by the shitty connection we have in Lebanon. I have Terranet 512Kbps DSL connection. Works for me (sometimes). If you will be working remotely, you will need not less than 1Mbps. Go with Sodetel, they offer low ping connection with public IPs. Low Ping Connection + Public IP + 1Mbps DSL connection = affordable connection that will let you work remotely. Regarding prices, I guess it will be about 100$/month with 5GB download/ 5GB upload quota/month.

Since you're here for a short time you might want to get a Mobi or Wise wireless modem. The reason is that a DSL connection, although better, might take a long time to set up. You will need to check for the availability of wireless signal too.
