It's not because of IDM. I am with Ogero and ever since June 29 my latency has doubled.
According to the WoW Europe forums there are people from all around the world (Portugal, Turkey, Israel, South Africa... that are suffering from the same problem).
I am willing to bet it's a rerouting problem because blizzard is being recently subjected to Dos attacks (they started around April 2016 but just check this post which indicates the same date as when my problem appeared... June 29).

Hey DG, read your post and entered a friends account to make sure it's not just me as well. Yeah I was at 100-120 latency as well.
Now it's around 180-200 which really sucks honestly. It's pretty smooth when I PvE but since I mainly PvP it's just unplayable.

Hope this gets fixed soon.
Totoro,

There are a lot of threads on the WoW Technical Forums about this issue and Blizzard keeps asking people to talk to their ISP.

It looks like they are finally starting to acknowledge the problem. If you check this thread (1st post on page 5) someone got a reply from a GM that they are now more convinced it's something at their end but it might take a few weeks to be solved.
Awesome! Good to hear. Because I have friends playing other MMO's like Black Desert with 'normal' ping and that's when I was convinced it's their servers too. There's always this voice in the back of my head telling me I'm wrong when it comes to these things because I live in Lebanon.

Let's hope they solve it soon, I already got Legion but I haven't been playing WoW much mainly because I have so much going on and once I do start playing... Hahah, I'm sure you know the terrible consequences of that decision.
Well once you do start playing you're going to be surprised.
They pruned many of the core things in the game. That doesn't mean it's bad now... just different.
Example, spirit and bonus armor on neck, cloak, rings and trinkets are gone, buffs ((all classes) are gone, many of the abilities (all classes) are gone, glyphs are gone. And if you play a Discipline priest you will notice they are the spec that has been modified the most: You can mostly only heal now by dpsing (this will either be extremely fun or a disaster... should wait and see).
Sounds cool, time for a change imo. I'm still up to date with some of the changes, I heard holy paladins will be dpsing too in order to heal.

No :-(

Oh well. I really liked PvPing with denounce already, such a powerful spell, at least I hope they won't remove that because it really helps out when you just destroy your opponent's cds.
Latency is as normal , sitting on 70ms atm..

What do you guys think about the prepatch stuff?
I need to get my hand on the artifact weapon on live.

@Ploto,

At first I didn't like all the class changes. Now, after a week or so, I'm starting to enjoy it.
Professions seem to be much better than in WoD (where you just sat in your garrison and gathered everything you needed). In Legion, there will be no need to fight for the same node. Everyone sees their own nodes (phased) so three people can land at the same spot and mine, gather the same node at the same time.
PVP remains to be seen. Right now rogues appear to be op and I foresee a nerf very soon... before the actual launch of Legion.
I'm loving the new animations especially with melee. You actually feel like you're hitting your target compared to the previous 10 years with Lebanese lag syndrome where you had to walk in front of your enemy to be able to actually hit him. Melee classes and Lebanese ping aren't fond of each other.
I might not come back immediately during the expansion launch due to irl things I need to take care of. But Legion definitely looks promising, compared to WoD and MoP combined.
Fingers crossed.

I wish i shared your enthusiasm. Yes, there are a few improvements that I enjoyed in Beta (some of which made it recently onto live) but I don't feel that excited any more. For the past 3 months I've been trying to decide which character to main as in Legion, but haven't been able to decide and despite DH's being an amalgamation of Rogues/Warriors and are merely rebranded Monks, I may end up going for a Vengeance Demon Hunter.

After watching Legion, that sounds like a plan honestly. I think I'll be playing my Holy Paladin (which is great with DH's in arena) on Alliance and my Shadow Priest on Horde.
I absolutely love the changes they did to SP's, still getting used to my H Paladin changes since I need to be hugging someone's face to be able to heal them properly.

The animations are very cool too. After 10 years of small improvements with animations this was a pretty big one. I feel more like a Holy Paladin now and a lot more like a Warrior too. They made the game a lot more class specific too.

If you're a PvPer I suggest you just reroll an Affliction Warlock because they're just destroying everything right now and won't be nerfed much in Legion.

I might PvE seriously again because of all the memories I had in TBC (basically just green stuff everywhere lol).
If you are too, let me know! :)

I'm playing a warlock and I second that. However, although Affliction warlock is very good and even a beginner can do well with it, it still has a limit.
The warlock spec which is still hush hush is Destruction, hard to master, but once you do, the ceiling is much higher than affliction.

It is insane in RBGs, especially if you spec Chaos bolt haste for two back to back bolts to the face. I have CS-bolt syndrome because of that ^^.

I'm playing Alliance on Ravencrest and Horde on Kazzak btw.
Horde and Alliance on Ragnaros. I used to be on Kazzak with Showdown, but got rid of the accounts maybe 6 years ago or more.
Feral druid is ridiculously good too, but I don't like highly complicated classes with alot of buttons, it makes you less aware of your surroundings and the overall progression of the current battle you are engaged in (of course we are not talking about 1vs1 or arena, but of large battles 5+ players on each side).
Yeah druids are probably the class with the most buttons to click. I just really dislike them, especially when I play my Shadow Priest. I actually hate all melee on my face when I'm on my SP.

It's like in any fight against them, all you can hope for is that the other player's a complete idiot and doesn't know how to interrupt/cc or shape shift. If he is capable of any of the those there's no way you can win a duel.

Exactly. Against an elite Feral Druid, no escape.

If you try to play melee, you will notice the disadvantages of melee. On my destruction warlock, I just stick to them and just go in and out through them and jump so they keep getting the "you are not facing the target" notification while i spam instant spells (destro warlock has alot of them), after that the odds become 50/50.
Yeah I tend to do the same regarding jumping. But I guess I really got used to my mage's spells that whenever I play another class I get angry for not immobilizing anyone hugging my face and keeping a safe distance.

I mean melee players kind of make me feel sad... They're constantly in need of hugging something and just running around it, I feel like all they need is a little bit of love..

No love, they have their roots, slows, stuns, and AOE cleaves. It's enough.
