This is a "coil-gun" I just discovered about these today. It is home-made and uses a powered magnetic coil to propel a projectile to dangerous velocities. It does not require the use of regulated items such as gun powder, and the best part (as far as usability is concerned) is that it's totally silent.

Its already on the to-do list ;)

Yes I wanted to add such a request to my post, but I did not because I thought it would distract from the main topic being discussed. But I agree, a hardware section would be good. There is already one, but it's dedicated to computer hardware, which is not what we're talking about. Maybe just changing the definition to include all sorts of hardware would suffice.

I contacted Samer twice about this, with NO for an answer. He is saying we should post electronics and stuff in the hardware section, although i still disagree and wish we have a new electronics section.

Sorry for the slight off topic. ( i don't think we need another thread to nag about this :) )
Topic moved to the hardware section. Everything dealing with hardware should be posted here for now. We can talk about a special section for electronics once we'll have enough threads.

Back to topic at hand.
Thanks (for moving the topic).

LOL. I got a CRT monitor that works, but its too big. If you need its inner parts, you're more than welcome to take it
Yes, please take the CRT screen. It's just sitting there waiting to be demolished :D
Better yet, get some coils from an MRI machine, they're huge!! Maybe you can built a coil cannon then xD
