Hi!!! I'm getting an iphone 4 from the US, but I've been told that the version should be 4.0.1 or 4.0 (and not 4.0.2 or 4.1) so it can work here...is that true??

it's true that iPhone version 4.0.2 and 4.1 aren't jailbroken yet ( so, they can't be unlocked )
but, if your iPhone is Factory Unlocked, it should work in Lebanon like a charm.
So, buy an iPhone 4 from there who is factory unlocked, or, you should wait for a 4.0.2/4.1 jailbreak.

I think the iOS 4 has already been jailbroken, but I dont know exactly which version.
I have a 3G and would like to upgrade it to iOS 4 because of the "native" multi-tasking support. But I guess it's a bit early since I'm not sure about the jailbreaking support and I dont think many apps support native multi-tasking yet.

multi-tasking is not supported for 3G model, only for 3GS and 4. Of course jailbreak apps will do the trick
