i bought a $110 HDD from vergin a couple of months ago and it completely broke down with bad sectors, the melody of death and what not. I'm looking for 2 replacment drives, one which is ~320GB portable and another for my PS3 500GB+, i want to pay less than $50 for either, pcandparts doesn't have enough details on its HDDs such as size which is essensial for the PS3 since it needs a smaller one

I recommend the Seagate Free Agent Go drives as external hard drives.
Also the ps3 uses the 2.5" SATA hard drives (same HDD's as current laptops), try looking into the seagate-maxtor brand too.

there is a shop at fawar antelias called "canadian laptops" I asked him once about external hdds and he said he is selling 1TB for 80$ but I dont remember if it was seagate or samsung... if youre interested I can go ask him its right next to where I work...

I have both brands mentioned above, "Seagate (320 GB)" and "Western Digital (1 TB)".
and NEVER had a problem with any of them for the past 3 years :)
I highly recommend these 2 brands as well.
Edit: The budget might be a problem in your case. $ 50 can't make miracles my friend.
