Nop sorry, but most shops just lie to customer with a ridiculously high price, just to make you give up on your purchase and buy their product instead. It's most probably a sales pitch,
Here's a link showing you how to tell the difference between a fake and a genuine controller.
Thanks AvoK95, this will come in handy. Fingers crossed I'll be getting the official controller tomorrow. Thanks again for your help

don't get the 50$ one,its fake! my friend got one of those
instead get the ones from virgin megastore, although they cost ridiculously expensive 80$ they are original and perfect (unless you open it up,thats where you get screwed :P)
WHAT? Are you freaking sure they're fake? He said to me they're original and stuff like that, I don't wanna buy 50$ for a fake controller, this is just absurd. He said to me the 50$ ones were original, so I guess he isn't trustworthy..What a waste of time and money
my friends friend got 3 of those and all of them were defect
the one your getting might be original, who knows...
before you purchase anything make sure you google on how to spot a fake controller
you have to open it and check its batteries and insides
Is it really necessary to do so? I've checked the "How to spot a fake controller" article and it seems original BUT while comparing it to the controller that came with my PS3, I've noticed there isn't a "CE" mark on the back of the controller..
NO,do not open it up! you will ruin it! i ruined mine...its so hard to put it back together!
I guess it's not worth it...anyway the controller is working perfectly!
