It is time for an Internet speed revolution!
In Lebanon the Internet international bandwidth is 2 gbps shared by 4 millions Lebanese citizen, in the future, after we connect to IMEWE, the Internet international bandwidth will become 45 gbps, and that is based on the government promise (and we all know what does a Lebanese promise mean).
Ok that is Bullshit:
1) In the year 2010, in many places around the world, a residential customer could have a 1 gbps connection directly to his home for less than 300 dollars!
http://gigaom.com/2010/02/11/so-where-else-in-the-world-can-you-get-1-gbps-to-the-home/
So the whole current Lebanese bandwidth costs less than 600 dollars per month in many places around the world!!!!!! So for example, a one Japanese citizen could have the same bandwidth that 4 millions Lebanese share, for less than 600 dollars per month!
2) The IMEWE dream is also a crap, the 45 gbps were a valuable bandwidth in the early 2000s (when the Internet was much more simple), but now in the 2010s 45 gbps are totally crap when shared by 4 millions people!
In this decade Internet HDTV well replace the traditional TV, and the high definition live video conference will be the basic way of communication... Traditional DVD/Blueray stores will disappear, and be replaced by online stores...
The IMEWE have a high bandwidth (3840 gbps), but Lebanon will only get 45 gbps (this what we payed for)...
Expect that before the year 2020, most citizens in the first world will have the 1 gbps connection in their homes... so our share in the IMEWE is becoming obsolete before even deploying the connection!
Conclusion: We really should start a revolution, a Lebanese Internet revolution!
