So recently, like 2 months or so ago, i subscribe with ogero's DSL service
Its been going fine and well ever since, yet there have been some complications
first of which sometimes the internet goes and doesn't come back, as in i'd be using it and soemthing happenes and that broadband light that blinks turns off and everything goes
sometimes it stays hours just flashing and the internet light never comes back on ... this has been so the issue since this monday, the internet hasnt come back since the last incident back on sunday
yet i have realized that this has happened when someone turns on the air con or rings the door bell, or when sometimes someone makes a phone call or we receive a call the internet goes
could this be an issue with electircal interferences ? since Ogero have come twice and have checked everyting, the second time the dude said that it was an issue of filters, so we changed them and still no working internet
could the only solution be to get a phone line extended from the phone box from the outside i.e. not within the walls, since that is what i may just very well do yet im hesitent since im worried that this may not work either
has ANYONE ever had these issues ? Or is it just me ? and if yes how did you guys solve it?
Thank you for your time.

Yes man. Same here with IDM. Both at my house and my parent's house.
What happens is that the internet light on the modem goes out or turns red and I lose my internet connection for a few seconds. I go into the modem interface and check the status of my internet connection and there is a problem with connecting to the DNS servers.
I was wondering too if anyone is experiencing the same thing?

what's annoying is that it someimtes literally works for 1 week straight no issues, and sometimes this happens, it comes like a day later, or sometimes straight away, but no its been 4 days with no internet cnxn at home.
i think i can pretty much conclude its "parasite bil hitaaan" or something of the sort, since this only happens when something electrical goes on, like i said AC door bell etc
anyway thanks for answering, i wish i can come up with a solution. I have contacted the local "kahrabjeh" he is coming friday to extend a phone line that does not run through the walls and also to check on all the electrical things, i hope he's up to his word and comes tomorrow, if the solution is solved i'd be sure to tell you.

Yeah I actually had similar issues as well. We have two phone sets at home. Sometimes when they used to talk on the phone using the one in my sister's room, the internet went off. I contacted the customer support in Ogero and they said it's something about the filters. I called the repair man and he fixed it. Now everything is fine.
One thing you should do when that happen is not to just keep waiting for the internet light to turn back on. Turn off your modem, count to 15 (slowly) then turn it back on.
Good luck!

Yes i had this issue, as Kassem said just get another filter and use it and thats what i did it solved my prob.

For DNS, use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as Alternate.
These are Google's DNS servers and they are blazing fast !

Same issue over here.

Thank you for all the replies, but the problem here that i have guys is that the internet light now doesn't even bother turning on
its just the broadband light it sometimes blinks for hours and sometimes not even at all.
i phoned Ogero last night, and they have phoned back this morning to check on the problem i.e they are coming AGAIN. Well at least they seem to actually bother coming, ill keep you guys updated, but still i believe this is an issue of the phone lines and the electricity lines having interference on each other.

It seems to be a syncing problem,
does your phone line present any kind of noise while speaking?
there could also be some electromagnetic interference as someone posted due to the use of cat5
do your neighbors have internet?
belal
That happened to me twice. The first time i had some problems with my line so i had to change the old wire. The second time my modem was getting overheated so i had to replace it.
Anyways, check
this.

i just finally got this issue fixed after 2 weeks with no internet connection
it was not a matter of filters or anything
there actually happened to be problems from ogero's side (the central that is) and also from my house. Ogero fixed their stuff, and i changed all phone lines coming from the the bottom electricity room to all the way to my house. All issues fixed, and not to mention my 256cnxn is now a 256 rather than a 246 which is what it was.
