rahmu wroteWhy not make a paying support service ? If customer is willing to pay, a VISP maintenance guy could go to his house, diagnose the problem and fix it.
I am sure customers are willing to pay for good maintenance. It would solve budget issues.
Just a suggestion, after all, you know your business better than we do :)
Well, it should be then initiative from my side. I don't like to fail, and if service paid - then we need very skilled guys, to not loose reputation. At same time i doesn't expect a lot of job for them, and this means it will not cover their salaries.
Plus it has very sharp angles, usually customer need "Reinstall windows", and they don't have licensed copy for sure. Same about a lot of software (i need adobe photoshop, i need ISA server, i need ... ).
So if you want to comply with law (and for large company it is a must) - you should refuse, and propose to buy one. We had cases like this in Ukraine, and it worked for 5 years, then Microsoft appeared and sued few big companies for huge sums. Some cases ended that companies put responsibility to guys who was installing, and guys got jail terms and ruined life.
Max i can do - premium support starting from SOHO, like opensource solutions (mail, bandwidth shaping and etc). But it will be not ISP business...
I would prefer to get in touch with some skilled guys on lebgeeks, talk with them and make sure they are enough skilled, and recommend them to customers :-) Already i know, some guys here doing such things.
