i am not familiar with how the lebanese internet system works, but im guessing that sodetel allows for more than one IP per dsl right? if that's so, have you tried login in to the router and manually choosing automatic DHCP?
if that doesn't work i would say trying to configure an static ip for your pc, since im not familiar with how internet works there, im not very sure if it will work.
Good luck

yup the automatic dhcp is not working although i have installed a new firmware for the router and it didnt solve the problem , don't worry i know a lot how to configure any router but this problem is weird maybe the router is disfunctioning :/
babum
maybe its a general issue with sodetel, did you solve your aunts problem?
Aj_BlaZ
nope she exchanged it and it was solved but i wonder what's the real problem that's what i'm trying to know and then i could solve it
Aj_BlaZ
lol i can log in to my modem without any username/password is that normal ?
babum
I should be if you have the username and password cached, try erasing all private info such as cache, cookies, etc and try connecting back.

problem solved l hamdoulillah :)
if it's 192.168.1.1 change it to 192.168.2.1, then go into command mode and "release" your computer ip address (with the command ipconfig /release), and then "renew" it (ipconfig /renew). This is the only way I could get some Linksys routers to work with DHCP protocol.
haha

nice one, never thought of that simple solution.
